Mersing ni dulu dari sungai Endau hingga sungai Sedili Besar asalnya dalam Pahang sehingga tahun 1862 baru masuk ke dalam Johor.sebab tu la pengaruh budaya orang negeri pantai timur kuat tambah2 sebelah pantai,kuat pengaruh budaya Terengganu sebab orang Terengganu ramai yang keje nelayan,dari daerah Kuantan sampai la ke daerah Kota Tinggi.
