  • West German pottery is much too diverse to be easily defined or placed into any single category. This video is about the diversity and is only a beginning. If you're watching this directly on TH-cam, please visit our site at ginforsodditiqu... for more videos, essays, other research material, and items for sale.

    I have been collecting "Fat Lava" (and Sklo Union glass etc) though it was not called that when i started, since the late 1960s...when I was a kid I started. I am thrilled so many people are into more than ever before now....The videos you make are fantastic, congratulations! Do you correspond by email to exchange pictures of Fat Lava pieces?

    Note that one vase identified as Roth was actually made by Marei. A major shift in attributions happened after this video was made, and a large portion of items attributed to Roth got reattributed to Marei. Also, sorry for some of the too fast cuts on the text. Hope you'll swing by ginforsodditiques.com to check out more information and items.

      @@tiquetalking Yeah I found both enjoying the content about brands as well artist of the era. I live in Canada so we don't have much opportunities to feel and touch these pieces but i'm enjoying learning about the history.

    The company name is Scheurich from what you've indicated. Technically, they are "collectible" rather than "antique" and still have several decades of aging before they qualify as antique. I believe Scheurich made more than one shape with the number 206 over the years.

    I am very interested in the Dumler & Breiden vase you have on the video. I havw a number of small vasess and one large one with the same design. Two have the name Dee Cee, numbers and Foreign on them. The rest only numbers. I would be intersterd if you have any more informaition. PS your videos rock. wales,UK

    I love this little video précis of WGP - cat, and all. Is that little ball at the end Otto? Surely with so many cats running around you run the risk of there being more than a few clay casualties. Perhaps you have taught them a healthy reverence for German design?

      Thanks. The small vase is Hameln Töpferei. We try to place vases in the least dangerous spots, but most of what we have out at home are pieces that arrived damaged, and we can't sell anyway. Hope you'll watch the other videos and check out the essays on the site at our Gin-For's Odditiques site.

    i have one question. There are some products with acompany name "KIL" . Is it WGP and what is thevalue of those pieces?

    • @forrestposton
      @forrestposton  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Nikola Pucarevic That question has come up in my Facebook group recently, and it's still not confirmed. They may be by Kilrush, but there's nothing to confirm it. Value will vary from item to item but remains fairly low on the market.

      Yesterday I was searching further on the internet by keywords "kil", "potery" and found out on etsy or some site like that a piece of clasicall small "Kil" pot, where it is referred as "Danish". So it is not WGP if the info in ad is true.
