How to Write a Thesis in LaTeX pt 2 - Page Layout

In this video series, we show you how to create a thesis using LaTeX. In this video we look at changing the page size, altering the margins and producing headers. We do this using the geometry and fancyhdr packages.

This is very embarrassing. But if anyone is having trouble getting the headers and footers to show and are NOT using lipsum please make sure you are providing enough text to push each section beyond its first page. I spent nearly an hour trying to make the headers and footers show up on each of my single page sections, which they are not meant to do

Hello, and thank you very much for such a clear walkthrough of a thesis building process. I used your method so far and I get this warning message...
./main.tex: Package Fancyhdr Warning: \headheight is too small (12.0pt): Make it at least 14.49998pt.
To which I said:

enewcommand\headheight{14.5pt}
and then I got this cryptic error I have no idea what to do with:
You can't use `the character 1' after \the. [\begin{document}]
