Just a word of advice, there should be more movement on that main joint at the top there and there should be more swaying from side to side with each step since that's how the AT-ST balanced itself while walking: briefly putting its weight on one leg until the other leg was on the ground as well. Look at Star Wars Battlefront for some reference and examples by what I mean

thanks for the suggestion! this is all motion capture stuff i directly placed onto a character and just ran it through the rendering.
i never really manually animate my stuff because it takes a long time.
i could have added additional keyframes on top of existing mocap animation to make it look a bit more weighty and realistic but it was just a test. thanks for the tips.
