I'm normally not the biggest fan of covers that are pretty much exactly the original song, but in the context of them doing an entire album of pitch perfect covers, it's super impressive.
The only song this album is missing is "I ran so far away" by Flock of Seagulls

I almost always HATE covers of amazing songs, they're nearly always terrible. So far, I absolutely love, love, LOVE this album

I'm disappointed with the Weezer covers because they don't really do anything different with the songs.
As a Lennox fan, I have never heard a cover of this song that I loved until now. It's damn eerie how he nailed this.

Marilyn Manson's version is way better than weezer's. It’s his own take on it & not an exact copy of the original. no comparison.

I really liked this rendition of "Sweet Dreams". It seems to mix modern synth sounds with 80s sounds. I love it.

@@BloodPlusPwn I agree. Manson's version is an entity all it's own. I love most everything Weezer does, but as far as which is the best cover of the original? That's gotta go to Marilyn Manson.
I love Weezer's version and the one from Marilyn Manson. I prefer Marilyn's version because of the darkness. But Weezer's is better than the original.

This entire album has Great covers, just as good as the original, glad Weezer covered these because it's really good

I'm not a Weezer fan. I only liked that one song that was on MTV a lot. But this album? It's going in my playlist! This is genius. Great covers of great songs I never thought Weezer would cover.

I remember this version as being the only version I’ve hear, now after years I finally know this was a Weezer cover. My love for the band has grown exponentially more.

@@rowanmcclantoc5418 . I'm not sure most Weezer fans would agree with you, but different bits of Weezer's catalogue appeal to different people. Their first two albums (Blue and Pinkerton) are widely considered their best, but are definitely different from the style in the Teal album. If you're looking to have a look at more Weezer from here, I'd recommend the White album or if you want something closer in tone to the Teal cover album, maybe Pacific Daydream. You might not like it all, but I thinks everyone can find something in Weezer they like :)

This is the only cover I could find that did the instrumental at 1:31 the justice it deserves, and also the only cover I could find that uses a guitar for the instrumental. Seriously, the _metal_ covers I looked at didn't use a guitar.

I love that Rivers recognized and gave himself the space to accept that he is not Annie Lennox. Didn't even try to hit the high notes, but matched intonation so well.

So far I've heard 3 of the covers and they nail all 3. To be honest, I kind of expected it, since they made one of the few covers of Paranoid Android that I actually respect

I actually like this more than the original. The bass sounds great, and the real drums give it a cool vibe.
I feel the same way about Take On Me. Rivers really had an outstanding performance and i like it so much more than the original.

So many bands cover well-known songs and in the attempt to make it "theirs" they just horribly bollix it up. Weezer isn't doing that, good band doing good songs and keeping themselves and their brand as out of the way as possible. Well done.
I much prefer covers that take extensive liberties with the material like Manson's cover of this song. The teal album is very nice though.

Because starting at around the 1:30 mark they start bringing in their own style. Crunchy guitars and harder slapping bass
That’s what they do an all of these covers
They start out with it sounding like a copy and slowly ease into their own style
Weezer never had a style, that's why they are incapable of putting their own "stank" on it. This is just preying on consumer nostalgia.

@@michaeledwards6683 Perhaps I should have said "sound." Not claiming to know every Weezer song, but their songs always sounded different from each other. And I don't say that as criticism. Some bands you can instantly recognize because all their songs sound alike, that wasn't Weezer. But to be honest, they lost their groove after Pinkerton. Rivers sent himself to Harvard and even went so far to say that he'd worked out the mathematical Rosetta stone to pop music. Then we got Beverely Hills.
