Went out on a sail 3 weeks ago on a mono hull. Conditions were light 4 to 7 knots. We were barely moving especially coming back into the wind. Swells in the bay. I may have fed the fishes twice😮. Terrible experience but the previous sails were in 10+knots wind. Way more fun. Those atolls look spectacular and the colour of the water is amazing.
I loved going on this passage with you and experiencing the reality of what you do over a 24 hour period. As someone who is new to extended cruising this is really helpful to me. And it looks like you have landed in another glorious spot! Can’t wait to see the next episode.
Groovy episode. New island and cool new adventures about to begin. It is so beautiful how much you care about the waters below you. Save the bombies (SP), save the coral.
Having no issues atoll! Btw, just to keep you updated, the Yankees are on the verge of another World Series appearance however the Mets will need a major miracle to beat LA. Cheers.
Curious to what your main sail was catching on when you raised it? Also I'm starting a Summer Sailing Camp next year for teenage girls, where we leave shore on Monday and return Saturday morning on Georgian Bay. I have yet to come up with a good name and was hoping maybe Grace, Bill or any of your followers might have suggestions. Love your video's and all that you guys do, enjoy the week!
Hi guys sorry to bug you I know I ask a lot of questions. 😬 we are heading south soon any recommendations for a boat water proof camera? Not starting a channel would just a dependable camera. Maybe a GoPro? Thanks! 😁🇺🇸
Man, you've been in some gorgeous spots whenever I've taken a look at your stuff recently. The jealousy is strong on this side of the screen. That's it! I'm buying a boat! :-)
This was a nice sail between atolls. : - ) It's made me wonder, . . . Do atolls end up becoming islands? Hmmmmm I'll miss seeing you two at the Annapolis Sailboat Show this year. : - ( But the other usual suspects will be there. 8 - O LOL
@scyz2807 Not really. French Polynesia is blessed with examples of volcanic islands that push above sea level, grow coral reefs, and then sink below sea level again. Marquesas group are newer volcanic islands that have some fringing reef around them. Society group (Tahiti, Bora Bora, Moorea) are older volcanoes that are slowly sinking and the fringing reefs have become barrier reefs. The Tuamotus group are volcanic islands that have completely sunk below sea level leaving just their barrier reefs at sea level. If sea levels continue to rise quickly due to Climate Change, these islands will disappear below sea level. The coral will not be able to grow quickly enough. Kiribati Islands and Maldives Islands are two groups that are being impacted right now by higher sea levels.
"Do atolls end up becoming islands?" Other way around! Atolls are what's left of volcanic islands after the volcano erodes away below water level, but the coral which used to ring the island keeps growing.
It’s been replaced just been stuck in NZ as we travel. Hard to arrange shipping in time for us to receive the sail before we leave. It’s in Fiji as of this week 👍
Looks like you are using an anchor swivel. I have a mantis swivel I have not installed it yet. any pros and cons you would share about the use of a swivel? You guys are an inspiration thanks for sharing your adventures! 🍻😊🇺🇸
I find it helpful to avoid twists in the chain which can bind up the windless. Since it stainless and the chain is galvanized you have to watch the link in the swivels for corrosion. I usually chop the first link or two every couple years
What I love about this channel is they show all aspects of sailing, there are plenty of channels for you to watch that will have you believing sailing is only sunshine, bikini's and sundowners.
Glad y’all made it❣️
In a cold rainy Sweden, this is pure gold for the soul to watch. Thank you! ❤
Yay! Thanks for watching!
Departed a beautiful anchorage and arrived in another beautiful anchorage. Enjoy your time and enjoy the coconut crabs there. Thanks you two cheers
Thank you! Will do!
Beautiful scoring! Loved seeing the actual entering of a atoll, up close and personal. Glad to see you having fun ❤
Thanks so much! 😊

sometime no breeze is uncomfortable as there is no force to stabilize the boat

Main was hanging up on our lazy jacks, they get in the way when trying to raise the main down wind
I can’t believe that place has an airport!!!
Anyone know how Breaking Waves are after the grounding? Looked really bad.
Great sail!

It’s got to be awesome being where you are but dang ……anchoring sucks huh?❤
lol def takes more preparation than normal but well worth it 🙌
Another great video!! I may have missed it, but were you able to replace your Code Zero? It sounded like Darryl was working on it.
It’s been replaced just been stuck in NZ as we travel. Hard to arrange shipping in time for us to receive the sail before we leave. It’s in Fiji as of this week 👍

Sorry, video aborted. Watching you sailing in the dark without any story doesn't make any sense to me.
What doesnt make sense is you aborted a 20 minute video over 2 minutes of darkness 😂😂
@@MrBillzebud if you think so... Who asked for your non valid opinion?
@@Hotzenplotz1 you asked when you posted in a public forum.....
Funny thing is I understood every word during that sequence. Both spoken and unspoken. Very sorry you missed what was told.
