If you take out student loans, it doesn't matter if you find a job or not, you have to pay the loans back. If you don't they will garnish wages, tax refunds, social security, plus add on penalties. They will come after you into your next life.

Yup, that’s the sad truth about higher education in America and if you don’t pay it, it actually goes up every year too! That’s why people here normally are still paying for college loans in their 50’s and 60’s if you don’t get a job that makes over $ 100,000 a year

The federal minimum wage for “tipped workers” is $2.13/hour. Throw them that 20%.

When I tell my friends who are 'tipped workers' that they should advocate for a decent wage with no tips, they laugh at me. Most don't want to be paid even a significantly higher wage with no tips, so I don't have a lot of empathy when they continue to complain that their wage is $2.13 an hour.

We definitely have to pay back the loans. It usually takes years to pay back the loan.

My four-year B.A. (including room and board) cost $65,000 total. My alma mater now charges $85,000/year.

Salaries? Cool, just don’t get sick here. My last time in hospital (no surgery) was more than $10,000/day. And, yes, I had insurance.

It was named after Hamburg, but no one is exactly sure if the guy who created the hamburger was born there or that his family was from there. Anyway, the hamburger was created in the US when same asked for a quick meal so that he could go back to work. The guy created it on the spot and threw it on regular bread.

It isn’t just in restaurants that you get great customer service ! All businesses that deal with the public stress customer service and the employees don’t get tips or bonuses !

I'm surprised he included Pennsylvania Dutch food in his list of unique American types of food.😊
I agree BP1 which Country is best is extremely subjective.
None of these questions would offend me.😂

You must pay all loans back in the US and the balance will continue to earn interest each passing day. The government tried to forgive every student loan, but the supreme court said that was illegal. Failure to pay off the loads leads to financial ruin. The price of college skyrocketed when Obama told the lenders that the government would cover all the loans people failed to repay. This allowed the schools to jack up their schooling costs.
I paid back all my loans within the 10 years dictated by law. And it pisses me off that today's students are trying to get out of repaying the loans they legally agreed to repay. Their signature made them responsible for every penny. Everything was spelled out clearly before school had even begun.

No oligarchy can be a “great country”. We are facing doom and damnation for the next four years. I hope our country, that great experiment, survives.

It's not what WE call Soccer, it's what YOU in the UK called Soccer* when you brought it over. We just stopped copying/updating things every time you did. Like Imperial measurements, from Britain. This country is to big to try and update every little thing other countries do, we'd be in constant chaos!
*The term "soccer" originated in 19th-century England as a shortened version of "association football".

    Reservoir Dogs. Best movie EVER!
America is, was , and ALWAYS will be the best country! Sure we've had ups and downs but life is ebb and flow. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. I'm on board with the metric system, but it is what it is.

The term Soccer was coined by the English, then they rolled over and abandoned their own name for the modern game that they invented. Some of its former colonies seem to be the only ones respecting the English and the name of the sport that they invented. You're welcome.

Ya, and about the Imperial system, I think it would be poorly accepted in Sports. The '45.72' meter line just would not be as impressive as the ''50' yard' line. Football would cave!😂 (and to be truthful the US DID get to the moon on the Imperial system, and so many more innovations on it😁) As a concession to the rest of the World we do use metrics on our soda pops!

    • @kingbrutusxxvi
      @kingbrutusxxvi 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

Correct. The "Imperial System" (inches, feet, miles, gallons, etc.) originated in Britain. It wasn't until much later that they changed to Metric... and we didn't.

Poll: Proud or ashamed of country? The US & UK are nearly equal.
*US:* Proud: *39%* Ashamed: *10%* Often Proud & Ashamed: *50%*
*UK:* Proud: *41%* Ashamed: *10%* Often Proud & Ashamed: *46%*
This is another statistic that UK reactors ignore because pretending that the US is a proud country and the UK isn't, gets clicks from American audiences.
National pride and shame poll. Pew Research 2021.
If anyone has more recent data please provide it, as the numbers fluctuate from year to year.
