    The best explanation/tutorial I have seen to date on setting this up. I would expect nothing less from a fellow Scouser ;o) I was looking towards a Spektrum radio setup, but like the simplicity of the Futaba s-bus setup, so will likely go Futaba.

    Very nicely done, and very useful. I'm new to this, and many of these settings are still a bit unclear. I just purchased a T8J yesterday, and plan to make the conversion as soon as it arrives. I especially like the way you edited the instructions for fast comprehension (video overlays, speed ups, etc). Most other videos seem to be 'stream of consciousness' and you are always thinking 'get on with it' ... not yours. Thumbs up!

  • @ThatHPIGUY
    @ThatHPIGUY 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was setting it up for manual. if you don't want to do that you can choose ATTI, that will make the (Right) 3pos switch GPS/ATTI/ATTI. just leave the end points as they are. If you are under ATTI and it still does not say attitude at the bottom then adjust the the end point until is does say, If you don't then it will go to failsafe.

  • @Lenny7118
    @Lenny7118 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for the video. 2 questions, 1st I don't have a 3 Pos switch on my T8J on the upper left like you but I have 2 on the right, can I just use one of those for the IOC and second after doing the radio calibration, the on screen sliders don't go all the way side to side when moving the sticks, is this an end point adjustment or an on screen setting?

  • @ThatHPIGUY
    @ThatHPIGUY 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    well I have a built in timer that starts when I go above 10% throttle so thats cool, also I can control a gimbal's angle, I like the 8J for lots of reasons, but I wish I could afford a futbab super FG

  • @ThatHPIGUY
    @ThatHPIGUY 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    thats due to DJI new firmware, any quadcopter using naza M has a new "auto take off" mode, basically you put the throttle to above 50% and it automatically does a smooth take off for you. if you don't like it then roll back to an older firmware ans assistant.

The weirder thing is when im flying if i switch into "manual" even though its atti the quad drops a good bit until i trottle up and also feels like its actually in manual. Any suggestions?

    I have a quick question you might be able to answer. I just put together a hexacopter dji f550 clone. dji v2 controller with gps, dji 30a speed controls and some cheaper hobbyking motors. I have my futaba t8j linked to it. When I arm the motors, they idle normally but when I give it throttle and especially full throttle, the motors arent very responsive when I decrease the throttle. futaba is hooked up as s-bus and everything looks good in Naza assistant. any idea at all what make the throttle so unresponsive?? any help appreciated :)

    Hi. I have a couple of questions for you: 1. I have a Naza M on a F450 with T8J connected via the S-BUS and it jitters around quite a bit. Did rebinding your TX work? Only I emailed AliShanmao the same thing and they said it's a known problem and they don't use S-BUS. 2. I noticed your version of assistant software looks newer than the one I got with the Naza M (V1.8) is this only compatible with the Phantom? 3. How did you bind switch D as your RTH, that's exactly what I'm trying to do. Thanks

    Hi HPI Guy, Happy New Year first of all. I have a question for you if you don't mind : I finally had the maiden flight yesterday with my new T810, commanded by my Futaba 8J. It flew well in general, but I had a strange phenomenon : every time I went further out than 50 meters (yes, only 50 meters), my Naza went into failsafe. Recovering the flight once the rig was back overhead was no problem but the F/S was systematic at about 50 meters.
    It looks like the RX or TX loose contact very quickly. Maybe an error in the TX settings ? Any ideas please ? Thanks. Phil (from Bali)

    • @ThatHPIGUY
      @ThatHPIGUY 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      check that the radio is not in Range Test mode. also make sure the antennas are not too close to anything electrical, ideally you want the antenna's to be 90* from each other.

    • @XRPgeneration
      @XRPgeneration 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you open your Futaba 8J and you go to the range test page (by holding down the jog-key and powering up the TX) what part is highlighted please on yours ? Is it "power down" or "off" or "on" ? On mine it is always "power down" which is highlighted but I don't know if this is default, so I'm worried it might be stuck in that mode which would then limit my range to 50 meters.

    I have a radio that has throttle set to 50% and it bounces up and down. This causes my new futaba to run idle at 50 percent and then I can increase throttle after 50%.and it flies. The only problem is that I don't have my eyes on throttle so if I go below50% it will shut down. Do you know how I can set my phantom to work with the full throttle.
