It is not a waste of time to take AP courses even if you do not pass the exams because they still look impressive on your transcript which can help you get into a good college. Also, AP courses taken in high school can help better prepare you for college courses. Not to mention that AP courses can help boost your GPA because a grade in those courses is worth more points.

How the downgrade feel? I mean getting put out UMD (low performance) to go to HU. Don't lose at HU. Study all material a head of time so that you can have the instructor go over what you couldn't get on your own. Don't wait to get if from the instructor in class and it be brand new to you and you don't get something and you just go on. You should be able to articulate everything presented in a class to someone else. Other wise you didn't grasp it. Thus you don't know it.
