Clip is by far the best program I’ve ever used, I didn’t need to even look at any instructions or tutorials on how to use it when I started. Amazing art as well :D
Like the bizarre use of colour that somehow doesn't seem out of place and how he carves out the character. I find it interesting he doesn't use the built in pen tools to scale but I guess he doesn't have to because the amount he paints over the linework by the end.
Yeah, the colors are cool. If you're interested, go watch marco bucci's videos on color. You can basically insert any color you want as long as the values make sense.
I love how he can make neons (which are colours I avoid like the plague, I gravitate towards pastels and desaturated hues) work so well! And of course they're way better than me lol

its actually easier to sketch what you want and then paint it and when you wanna finish up just line a few things that you want to appear more detailed.
It's so interesting that he draws the sketch and then starts coloring in a layer, and when he likes it he starts coloring in the same layer as the lineart and then mixes all of it and still manages to make it look great, if I tried to do that my drawings would look like monsters kkkkkkk

I love this speedpaint because it really lets digital art be digital art. Sometimes its nice to see those digital brushstrokes the way youd see lose brush strokes in oil paintings. the coloring process here is fascinating! just putting down a messy lineart and then cleaning it up bit by bit. I like that :)
It's a fun way to avoid having to do lineart if you don't like it. I used the same technique on the TH-cam profile picture you see here.
