Really digging this kinda new-wavey, loose, all styles inclusive direction that skateboarding is taking in certain parts of the world; and that it's being encouraged by new and some old companies on the scene. Seems like a lot more fun's being had and that what's considered good doesn't necessarily just fall into the Nyjah category. Much love ❤️❤️
Almost like it's back to being something more sincere closer to its purist roots...Skateboarding as a creative expression and with less of the rampant 90's 00's machismo dick swinging... sooo much more fun to watch
@kit yeah, well said...I too have very mixed feelings about the Olympics etc. While there's a part of me that thinks it's great that skaters are being acknowledged for what they do(Olympics etc), it's inevitably only going to be a certain kind of skater that is acknowledged by the Olympic committee. It'll probably have a lot to do with sponsorship deals etc. And while, yeah, skating is athletic, it's also a form of artistic expression, and how do you confine that to a point system? It's not quite the same as giving Damien Hirst a bronze for conceptual thought, but it is somewhere in a similar spectrum... P. S. No hate here though. Didn't mean to come off sounding bitter. . For me Nyjah Huston is much like a Michael Jordan of skateboarding. Like him or lump him, you can't help but admire and respect the skill, talent, hardwork, and sheer athletic prowess.
