Really nice guide! Also, I have to say all the little animations and overlays really take this one to the next level. The quality of your guides is top notch, appreciate the effort! 🙏
good guide! great thing about Ox clan is, you got less villagers at higher production, so easier to manage when playing, definitely one of my favourite clans to play! it's fairly tricky to play depending on map layout though - it happens fairly often having only one food tile in 1st ring, and quite often only two food tiles within 2 rings now, but also not that rare to have 3 harbors within 1st ring (inc. main tile), also not uncommon to see two wood tiles within 2 rings (saves you from building many woodcutters), sometimes building silos and upgrading them (following FFA Lore order) is mandatory on weaker spawns, I'd say the only non-intuitive thing about Ox is going for Legions (not boosting warchief) - that said, it's also fun way to play without chief at all early, prioritizing warriors and also building Mjolnir relic instead (upgraded units get 20% chance for insta-kill basically - which also applies to ANY other upgraded units like woodocutters or villagers), speaking of forging, there's no shame in building another forge to speed things up, because worst thing about Ox is having noob "idle" villagers without specialization xD dwarves are fun to favour, but also questionable to kill later when allied to boost mining even more (and restrict other players from being given resources too), one bonus tip - to maximize City Builder lore early, make sure to build wood+food on same tile or harbor+wood on same tile, preferably woodcutter on the edge and house on the edge of next tile - that way you can very quickly toggle for wood/food without wasting time and resources ;)
Thank you for you add-ons! Yeah "vanilla" villagers feel awkward with Ox. Beginning in 802, you'd rather have warband most of the time. I agree with the versatility and different approaches depending on spawns. Especially a shipwreck will boost your early eco by an insane amount with the 200 provided wood. Just like with the Kraken, that treasure is a cheat :P
I have to say the effort in the guide shows, and this community really needs people like you to keep newer players interested. However I think the part that adds a LOT of value is an explanation of how to play the clan in harder starts. In this case you have 2 open food, sheep, ruins, it's all there. What happens if your first open tiles are for example a coast with lore and iron and a tile with only stone. The eco difference is so huge I feel like it's impossible to get even close to the goals, especially with people failing to get fast clears as consistently as you do on higher level games. Hope to hear your thoughts!
Thank you for your comment! Usually, people are quick to point out a good spawn while a bad spawn is normal. That's not how I generally experienced Northgard so far. I see it like this: A guide should give everyone a general overview of what a clan is capable of, while giving build orders and benchmarks to replicate the playstyle. The easiest way to highlight strengths is by playing a decent spawn. Did I have a good spawn here? Absolutely. The spawn could have been better and it could have been worse. I see no point in playing a particularly bad spawn because ultimately it's about a clan showcase. You should still reach the year's goals consistently if you're getting helped by a clear clan. Sometimes, buildings are going to be 2-3 months late (and that's totally normal), but apart from that, it's the same thing. I thought about playing different spawns, but there are soooo many possibilities there that I'd rather play the same spawn, but with different builds since you can also watch gameplay footage of how I handle other spawns. Open lore? Perfect colonize it and work it immediately! Lore is the best resource in the game. It was closed here...which was bad. I am happy to help out if any further questions arise and I hope I was able to give some insight into my approach
Tried this clan for the first time in conquest solo, I got smoked in 2nd round. I was on the right track on the tree, but really struggled early. But very nice guide, very well-made video, showing trees, build order steps and so on! The last example looks brutal to be against!
Thanks Lars, after the overwhelming strategy of Lion, Ox felt like breath of fresh air 😅 They feel like Orcs from Warcraft. Low in numbers but strength in size!
Hey Lars, I would really appreciate it if you could continue on your clan guide playlist. Lynx, Squirrel and Eagle are still missing and maybe you want to make some longer guides for the others you have covered in shorts as well with maybe more build orders? For example boar rush.
Hey man! I'll keep doing these, but the guides are tons of work. I could play/record ~ 40-50 games instead of making these and I personally prefer just playing the game. The guides are a way of showing appreciation for you guys as I want to contribute to the community, though. It'd be different if the guides would get funded 👀
Hey Lars, thanks for this fantastic guide. I've been practicing a bit with ox lately and I'm starting to get the hang of it. What I still find a bit tricky though are games when you only have two food. Even if I upgrade both food buildings, I struggle taking all the tiles I want to take. Does this sound familiar to you? Any thoughts or tips you might have?
Thank you for your comment beanface, I am glad you liked it! Yeah I have encountered the same problem actually. Having only 2 food tiles is very rare, but if that is the case I'd recommend building 2 marketplaces instead of 1 to replenish the food faster.
nice guide, are there any past guides that you would need to redo because of patch changes? Also, dragon guide when? Is Dragon also a military clan, like Ox and Lion? or does it fit in the role of scout, clear, feast ect ect?
Funnily enough, the only clan who changed a lot so far is Hounds :) I'll start updating guides once I am finished with all the clans! Dragon is a military clan which is way too weak atm and gets hard-countered by both Ox and Lion. Only role might be sustained harrass rush starting in mid 801.
@@larsmanlive awesome sauce. If you could highlight some point in the current raven guide that is not perfect. What would you say changed... or can i follow the guide to the letter ?
I’m failing to understand how you get enough lore by 802 to forge for free but also get shipbuilding for extra kröwn production? I’m struggling as ox in every game. I love the clan and am pretty good at others but this one is just… difficult to be good at
So because ox units are tougher vills can take 3 fox hits before getting wounded? Thats pretty no skill :P anyway nice guide Lars thanks for the effort!

Very informative video Lars. I really enjoyed this new format of guide, shorter but still pack w tons of information!! Keep it up mate
Thank you so much! I am glad you liked this format.
More guides, I like. Keep up the fantastic work mate!
Yes, sir!
I'll keep pumping these out as fast as I can.
This is really a work of art, keep it up Lars 👍🏽👍🏽
Thank you so much Hector!
I've put a lot of work in this and I am glad you liked it.
Thank you for this cool guide for my main, finally know how to play Ox the right way :D
Appreciate your support ma guy!
Have fun demolishing people and take care Torfin :P

Keep trying/practising. Solo conquest might be really hard depending on the spawn.

Thank you for enjoying my guide!
Yeah Ox/Wolf feels like Orc and Lion/Owl feels like Humans!
Both in unit numbers and in clan complexity.
actually a good guide! (All that's left is to find a clearman who can come before the first winter.)
Thanks a lot! Yeah, a clear/babysitter is essential for a fast booming Ox. Otherwise everything will take longer.
Very nice guide
Thanks a lot!

thx man. new to rts, and starving on bear.
Try to recruit your bear asap and have it stand on your fish tile!

While the Hounds guide isn't.

@@pjmosi4686 Follow the same lore path! Try to build a dock for scouting early on and go Guardian or Leadership as military path!
Dont forget to sick in 1st winter, its a part of build 😅

Yeah, right? That's sucha cheat. Purely because of that, the clan should be 1-star in difficulty to learn :)
Thank you very much for your comment feho
6 feasts by team a lot…
Yup, classic Goat.
This is how it looks with 3 feasts: th-cam.com/video/Y5SAIboraXM/w-d-xo.html
@ naah, its pretty easy to make at least 12 with no feasts
Just without dwarfs its easy to make.
Moreover, u made no gold. There must be +18 or more, not 13)
I have never seen a worse guide in my life, a completely unplayable build in a modern ranked game
As always, thank you for your constructive feedback.
