At 23:44 If you wanted to try and get those roots more snug around the rock, you could try wrapping with Athletic/ Vet Tape. It has worked great for me so far. It is pretty tough, you can crank it around the roots pretty tight and it also breathes so air and water pass through, no scarring either like wire does. Also, in the same shot 23:44 I was curious what kind of tree are the leaves in the bottom right of the screen? Maple-like leaves...
Could you do a video that shows the different stages of growth from seed showing at what stage it is ok to start wiring? I have some pines from seed and one flame tree from seed but I always appear to get them to roughly 6-12 month stage before they die or, apply wire too soon and they die? Any advice please? I love all your root over rocks fabulous trunks!
Awesome video, I love your trees. I saw someone use rubber bands to attach trees to rocks, I'm trying that out, see how it goes. How do you start off your tridents, are they cuttings?
Thanks for share your process with us!! Nice trees and the video looks amazing!! Looks like stock film from 1990 !! What camera are u using? Well done ! Thanks!!
Great video thanks. I'm interested you don't fully bury the whole stone and allow it to grow on as rapidly as possible in order to thicken the roots. I shall definitely try this method.
Hi Yes if your tree is growing strongly you completely defoliate. Then prune it back to the branches you want. And the tree will flush out a new lot of shoots. In this way you can achieve several seasons growth in one season.
at some stage they will drag me off my property. starting to think bonsai is a way to keep me content in the next phase. thats many years away but food for thought to start collecting experimenting and growing. eyeballing my golden totara and starting to plan cuttings.
Your little Tridents have some fantastic movement and those rocks are awesome! So cool to see this kind of work, keep it up, and those funky tunes! 🎵
Some great material there and really good instruction on the process Che 👌thanks for sharing!
That was great. Good example to follow, Thanks

@@DeciduousSnurb I like the tape idea.
I just had a look the leaves are a real cool coloured geranium, red with gold edge

@@whitecaps0 Hi thanks
Always seed. Cuttings give you a straight trunk thats hard to work with.
@hardwiredbonsai1676 if you don't mind me asking, where do you get the seeds?
@@whitecaps0 we have a few trees here.
They are pretty common in parks and gardens. I haven't got seed this year or I would send you some.

So impressed, were the tridents taken from cuttings or seed?
@@BarryandAndreaPenellum I always grow my maples from seed. Real easy pick them in autumn put in the fridge damp for the winter sow in spring.

Hi, you make all these cuts in one year. You cut and take off all the leafs did you say?
