The Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts World Music Department presents TAKEOVER XI, our end of the year performance featuring senior class capstone pieces and a fusion of various world cultures. Performances were Friday, May 10th and Saturday May 11th, 2024 at 7:00pm at the Dan Kryston Memorial Theater at ASAWA SOTA, 555 Portola Drive in San Francisco. This concert was over Mother's Day weekend and was dedicated to all the mother figures in our lives. As the only public school percussion based music education program in the nation, World Music fuses a curriculum of traditional arts and instrumentation based on the diverse traditions of the globe.
