This kriti is a gem out of three, which is often sung in the concerts. The other two are Kapaali of Paapanaasam Shivan and Nanu paalimpa of St Tyagaraja. Mohanam janyam of Melakarta number 28 Hari Kaambhoji (in a music book I even read that it is a janyam of Melakarta number 65 Mecha kalyani). Corresponding Hindustani Raag is Bhoop Or Bhoopaali both are same, janyam of 1st KALYAAN THAAT ताट தாட். He has sung the aalaapana and the whole thing very much softly and beautifully.
