For a vegan version: I have a lactose intolerant bestie from Mexico and I make her tres leches every year for her birthday, I use coconut milk for it, you can buy or make evaporated and condensed coconut milk, and they work perfectly, plus it tastes coconut-y which I think is really delicious for this style of cake.

I make Tres Leches often and it is pretty standard to use whipped cream instead of Swiss merengue (in the Cuban version at least). Then you can just sweeten it very lightly and it should be perfect. I don’t like desserts that are too sweet either.
Perfect Vinsainto Sunday:
1. Make a REAL coffee.
2. Snuggle up with a cat in preparation to watch the newest video. And then, probably binge a few after.
3. Today: Baking bread. Its Challa. I braid it before baking. Its super easy.

I use coconut milk! They make evaporated coconut milk and condensed coconut milk! I can’t have dairy so it’s a great substitution! And also then it tastes like coconut so it’s a sin win situation

I do that too! My bestie requests it every year for her birthday. It's soooo good. You can also make evaporated and condensed coconut milk yourself if they're out of them at the store.

I think instead of strawberrys on top of the cake you could use oranges or tangerines in winter instead. This would fit perfectly to the cake and give it a bit of freshness! 🙌

The evaporated milk, is the milk we use in the Netherlands when we drink our coffee with milk and sugar in it. It's called "Koffiemelk" in Dutch so like "Coffeemilk"

@@Vinsainto when you first took a bite it didn't look like there was that much liquid in the bottom but when you came back the next day and showed us there was definitely way too much liquid in the bottom of the pan maybe you could have put it inside of a bowl and then opened the pan
