Thanks for the shoutout Joey. You may also remember that when I saw that the 14-year-old you was not much interested in school, but loved skate boarding, I not only saw that as a pathway to get you to learn about shooting and editing, I also told you about some guys that were making motorcycle trick videos and distributing them through shops all over the country. Little did I know you'd make a career out of it all - and working at the premier place in the business. By the way, my friend Charlie Samuels has won top awards at about 30 film festivals around the world for his skateboard doc, Virgin Blacktop. PBS had considered it for their Doc series, but it's still available for distribution.
Mr. Z! YES- I am so thankful to this day that you saw that spark that I had for skateboarding and skate videos and let me turn it into a productive passion. Wouldn't be where I am today if it weren't for you and your guidance, and that TV Production class. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! -JP
I'm currently trying to learn how to get better at editing and filming skate videos. This is so sick to hear. Thanks for the video and inspiration over the years!
That’s awesome how you combine and re-combine the various media to make kind of a video collage. I wouldn’t have guessed that you literally film the tv screen while the vhs was playing. And bonus points for that sweet Roland Jazz Chorus amp!
I had the pleasure of skating and filming with Joe back in high school. The way he speaks of Jeff Lenoce is the way we spoke of him with his camera. It's been crazy watching his career over the years and all the films he's created. I can't believe I just watched our old spot behind Publix on the Santa Cruz channel. Amazing.
DBC.. Daily Blessings Coming! Thank You ALL for Everything, Everyday!! That’s so Awesome!! I wish I could have talent like that… Skateboarding, Filming, BLESSED!!
I've watched this quite a few times now, & I see getting more creative with the editing and filmmaking. Such as saying you don't need the most up to date camera right now with the best auto focus and the sharpest image, And getting very creative with the board zooming in and old footage going analog from the editing software to the DVD to the VHS back into the software. I would have never through of that and it makes me want to up my quality of editing and filmmaking.
I really enjoyed watching this. Its really inspiring! But there is one thing i want to point out: dvds and vhs tapes are not analouge, they are digital.
Hmm if you’re going to film off the TV anyways, I’d recommend just getting an HMDI to AV converter. Just export your video into 4:3, record the video onto VHS and recapture with something like an Immersion RC that records directly onto micro SD. Either way will save some time by avoiding burning to DVD.

Thanks! Don't always do the "film the TV screen" thing, but thought it would be a nice touch for the Jake part. And yes- I love my Jazz Chorus!

Jeah Tucks!!!
I feel like I’ve been wondering what joe was up to. Seems he hasn’t filmed a screamingvlog episode in a bit. Good to see what you up to joe P
Man that’s a lot of work. I’m glad these old cameras went out and HD & 4K killed it. I hated the tape look and just wanted to see film instead.
That was awesome
Stoked you're stoked, Thomas!
