calves are looking fantastic, always have a few small ones which get pushed around by the bigger girls. I am so ready for calving to be done, I think we've got about 100 to go, got about 1020 girls coming through atm & hope you don't get the torrential rain canterbury has been hit with
Watching your videos brings back some fond memories of over 20 years ago when I spent about 6months on a dairy around Putaruru! Looking forward to a trip back to NZ in Jan!
That is the weather now. Pitty i couldn't say the same here in Northern Ireland. Last 2 months of summer were very unsettled with very few dry days to get field work done. 1st month of autumn is no bigger with showers and wind most days, the joys lol.
great andrew they all out wormed, great calvings over , great calving time, frame, good your dad you work so well together, whats your average dm coverage ? how much your cows doing day at moment ?
Wow 😮 finished already I have 37 to go from 268. Its been 79 days since planned start of calving😢 its now friday 22nd Sep. Been very slow and its got me thinking about OAD again. My neighbor does it. Cos mating and calving is becoming to spread out. However i do need more cows as im already under stocked
Ahh bugger that’s still a few to go, what production do you get per cow?? Just wondering wether OAD might work better to try and get some good repro results and bring that calving closer? When I first came back we had cows calving in October and I though bugger this so started culling all the late ones, bringing the end date forward each year and now calvings pretty compact
Hey 16 cows to go since our comments. Unfortunately production per cow for a season not much over 300 despite having really good peaks 23-25ltr 1.84-2 ms in an average spring, did have one much higher, seems to be a one off. I have milked once in 24 hours maybe a dozen times or so over the last couple years Have done it this season getting 16.9 litre and 17.4 litre. Previously up to 18 litre. On these occasions Ms % remained at TAD level. 8% approx. My neighbour milks OAD with 300 kiwi X I would look to do the same, so a good model farm next to me
Beautiful calves 🐶🏴☀️🌲
Love watching the calves running around.
Calf videos😀 are some of the best, new life at the beginning..........
Good luck with the sales for the farm shop.😊
Just go straight to 9 weeks you won’t regret it. Gives the cows a good break before calving. Great video
Very very tempting 👍

You’d think rain in summer would be a good thing, seems weird but you can have too much aye
Sweet as Andrew, great seeing calves head out onto super fresh grass.
Calving is done woohoo, now onto mating and really put those collars to the test 🖒
Can't wait! Really looking forward to this mating with all the info, it should make it a good test for it

I was around the 2200dm/ha a couple weeks ago and at the moment doing 1.5/cow
Love watching the calves run around 😊
The calves are looking good Andrew. How many are you going to keep as replacements?
I have got 67 this year, only wanted about 60 but we’ll see how it goes, gives me a bit of wiggle room
You can get milk bar teat screw adaptors, if you wanna go to all one style of teats but still use the trailer!
I have thought about that before, and probably wouldn’t be a bad idea
Hi I like your video
