@@sesame510exactly. The first tip should be followed by everybody, especially by those who have curly, coarse and/or frizzy hair. I used to shower with really hot water and now that I wash my hair separetely with cold water I have more defined curls and way less frizz.

NOT EVERYONE NEEDS A SCALP SCRUBBER. If you have oily scalp or very itchy scalp, excessive massaging steps like scrubber can make you scalp even oilier and itchy. Also people with seborrheic dermatitis avoid scalp scrubber.
Thank you! I have all of these and I was about to get a scalp scrubber.
i have oily hair, so should i use a scalp scruber
Exactly. Thank you!

My hair dresser advised me against silicone scrubbers. She said they cause hair loss by tugging the roots.
But still don't use your fingers as much, because the trapped dirt and oils in your nails can come out in your hair/scalp. But if you do use your nails/figures because of your hair dresser's recommendation, maybe try cleaning your hands really well, especially under the nails before washing your hair. I hope I could help you out ❤

As a hairdresser, In my opinion, I cannot vouch for most of these tips.
It may work for some but not for the majority.
1. Never use you nails it's too harsh, use the pads of your fingers to work in the product.
2. Don't use a scalp massager/scrubber when washing hair. When your hair soaks up the moisture from the water (and steam if you if you go for warm showers) you hair becomes vulnerable to breakage due to the excess wait it's now carrying. This is a massive no! Especially for fine hair. Thick hair types may be able to get away with it but don't do it excessively as it may cause you're hair to get weaker.
3. Double shampooing strips the natural oils out of your hair that plays a massive factor in healthy and shiny hair. If you haven't washed your hair in a while and it's really greasy, usually 1 week or more, then yes double shampoo but not every 2nd or 3rd day. It's not good for your hair.
4. The only thing that I would agree with is luke warm to cold showers are best for your hair. Hot water can cause dryness to your skin and that includes your scalp. Think of it this way, when your sunburnt does your skin go oily or does it go dry, scaly and you end up peeling?
If you say oily... lucky you for never being burnt 😂
Quick question, shampooing my hair makes it so frizzy and dry and when I don't shampoo for like 2-3 weeks it doesn't get frizzy, it feels healthier, looks healthier, and I used to have really bad dandruff and I feel it has actually gotten better the less I wash my hair, do you know why that is?
@@appleal1 I’m pretty sure it’s just oil, love. I have the same thing.
@@trice8905 is hair being oily different than being greasy? If they are different, what exactly makes hair greasy? I've been told greasy hair is just from a buildup of oils but it makes me confused why so many people shampoo so much more often. You spelled weight wrong 🙄

Shampoo companies love her.
But for real, modern shampoo is quite strong. I only do two times when it still feels weird after one or it was super gross.
I tried double shampoo once, my hair felt awful for a week 😭 I have straight hair- and uh I absolutely do not use a scalp scrubber but my hair's never oily or dirty
edit: I have a pretty normal scalp and stuff so I don't use conditioner if I don't have to! and I do not wash my hair everyday, it's pretty healthy so yea
I have straight hair, and I double shampoo, it's amazing for me.. you should oil your hair before hair wash
It can also be because of different hair types..
@@nitinsinghania3115 I wanna try oil but I shower every 2 days instead of 1 day because I just don't got time. I think it's my scalp
@@m1churr0I have a very dry scalp so I pil it before the shower... I tried double shampoo twice and it make my head so itchy. I tried another time with a more gentle shampoo and it did the same thing. So I'm sticking to 1
really? i have curly hair and it makes my hair feel great. i believe it’s related to oil production and not curl pattern
I believe it wouldnt work for people who wash their hair everyday. But I only wash my hair when i feel its getting greasier/ accumulating dust.. like once every 3-5 days. Hence i was always taught to double shampoo since the first one will not reach your scalp ( it only cleans the outside and not foaming enough ) . Like good indication is when your shampoo produce a good amount of foam then its good enough.. if its not foamy then repeat the process
I actually just don't use a scalp scrubber

@@airconditioner13 thats the thing i forgotten. But i think its mioka or soemthing like that.
You shouldnt wash your hair with cold water. Its not bad for your hair, its just that warm water is much better because it opens your hair cuticles which allows you to clean your hair better and more thoroughly. But its good to use cold water AFTER you shampoo because it can strengthen your hair and make your hair shiny. (Ofc this isnt perfect for everyone)
actually for most hair types cold water is better lol. for type 3 and 4, warm water can cause your scalp to itch cause of the density of your hair, and colder water just helps to enhance your curlss, and then especially if you have itch scalp, use cold water!
@Angxele if youre washing your hair, hot/warm water its good for type 3 and 4 hair. Its only itchy because u haven't washed it yet. The itch goes away with shampoo. Also warm/hot water is very important for your hair especially. It helps the cuticle open and get flow through it. Although once youre done with your shower you can turn the water cold and that will reseal your cuticles.
@@Angxele I have have type 3 hair, and I CANNOT shower in cold water. It makes my hair really oily and my curls won’t be defined. Not all curls are the same.
@@0reo.-MissCircle-7that's funny bc I'm type three as well and I can only use cold water. Hot water causes my hair to be dryer and less defined curls. Also type three or at least for me I have natural oils that keep my hair healthy hot water dries out my hair.
@@iamsoup_official1 for me it’s the same except I can only use hot water- that’s actually kinda funny! But it makes sense because I have other hair types- I don’t wanna sound racist but my mom told me I have “both white people hair and black people hair”
You dont need a scalp scrubber, if your nails are short, you can use the tips of your fingers
You should never use your nails to scrub your hair .always use the soft pads of your fingers to clean and masssage. fingers are the best massagers .you don't need anything
Thx
In my experience tho, it helps a lot with dandruff. I always massage my scalp with my fingers properly while washing my hair and it did help but the dandruff would return again after 2-3 days of washing. After using scalp scrubber my dandruff doesn't return for a whole week.

if you use a scalp scrubber in the shower it can actually cause breakage to the hair its like brushing your hair when it is wet. try using it before you shower to loosen up any dandruff or dirt there may be on the scalp! hope this helps! ❤
You can brush your hair while it’s wet wdym?
You can use it under the shower. I do it since a year and have 0 damage. Also you can brush wet hair after applying a conditioner because it's pressed in and works better
I usually shampoo with warm water because it opens the follicles and you can wash out all the dirt and buildup. then I wring out water and add conditioner while my hair is still warm. rinse with cold water to close the cuticle and lock in moisture. ik cold showers suck at first but once I got into the habit by slowly making the water colder, it became so refreshing
A scalp scrubber can actually cause hair damage because when your hairs wet it is vulnerable to more damage
Exactly
Yeah it tugs on my hair instead if I use it in motion like that so I just uses it to apply my hair growing serum.
I think I’m fine, I use hot and cold water (depends), I have no flaky issues and I’ve always had greasy but healthy hair.
something that changed my hair care game was not washing with my nails. when i washed my scalp, i would use the tips of my fingers, which meant i was scratching my hair. once i changed my hand position to be fingers ONLY (like the part of the finger where you’d do a fingerprint), i got way less dandruff.
The base for good hair is a leave in conditioner and some hair oil for the ends applied after you’ve showered. Of course based on your hair you may want/need more then this depending on your hair type. I feel like hair aftercare is more important then all these wash in cold water, double wash dadida kinda tips. Washing gets rid of dirt and oils, but kinda strips the hair, the water gives it moisture, so you need to seal that moisture in.
Washing in cold water can help colored hair stay and if you’ve colored your hair like brown or something you don’t need those color shampoos, it’s more for vibrant hair colors since the pigment doesn’t stick that well. But it also cleanse worse.
If you feel like you need to double wash maybe invest in a high end shampoo, I personally only double cleanse if I’ve used A LOT of product in my hair

For my curly haired girlies (I’m talking in the 3s cuz that’s my domain), only double shampoo maybe once a month to do a reset. Doing a double shampoo every week can dehydrate your curls a lot. Most of those tips sounds pretty good, but you won’t see me shampooing twice (unless it’s really really necessary). •sleep in a loose braid to prevent frizz and damage
•refresh hair with rosemary water

1. make a hair mask - aloe gel and any hair oil of your choice (use oils based on hair porosity, you can find some videos about it)
2. check if your water is hard water (just take a clear water bottle, fill it with your shower water, then take an organic shampoo without any sulfates or parabens and shake. if the water is clear, your water isn't hard.) if your water is hard, use as little as shampoo you can. and buy a water softener - trust me this changes your skin and hair
3. use a clarifying shampoo *ONLY ONCE A WEEK AND ONLY IF YOUR WATER ISNT HARD*'
4. invest in bond repair serums, they're amazing but lil bit expensive but if you're willing, please buy them
5. use good shampoos, without sulfates, parabens and something that would benefit your hair (there's videos about that too)
6. your conditioner is also quite important, apply it on the ends of your hair and let it sit, it's so important. hydrates your hair. maybe find a conditioner with hyaluronic acid.
7. make sure you're brushing your hair with a wide-toothed wooden comb.
8. *EAT HEALTHY AND WHENEVER YOU'RE SWEATING, BRUSH YOUR HAIR. AND DON'T TIE YOUR HAIR TIGHTLY.*

TY MY HAIR BECAME BETTER
You’re not actually meant to use your nails on your scalp, you’re supposed to use the tips of your fingers

Also, only if you have straight hair, never brush your hair when it’s wet. Straight hair is at its weakest when wet, and some will rip out. Also, this applies to brushing your hair in the shower. Don’t do that. For best results, brush your hair when dry, before the shower. If you have curly hair, do not listen to this. If you have curly hair it’s best to brush in the shower.

For years i have been always using my fingers to wash my hair but damnnn the silicon hair scrubber works like magic, my scalp really feels clean and fresh.
FYI - I have tried everything Diluting my shampoo with water, trying alternate shampoos and skipping oiling my hair which worsened it. I understand that everyone's hair is different and works in a different way but would highly recommend you try it once.
this was so helpful tysm!!!
from a girl whose never changed her hair care routine since she learned how to bathe herself:
- i do cold showers and my hair is completely fine
- i don't use scalp scrubbers because i'm broke and your fingers absolutely do NOT scratch your scalp. if you used your fingertips and not your nails to scrub, your scalp wouldn't be damaged.
- i shampoo more than twice because my hair is thick and it takes a few shampoo rounds to get the grime off.
- i don't condition my hair because it gets my hair so oily 😭
my hair is super healthy and i get compliments frequently btw !!
I don't have a scalp scrubber my mom would kill me if spend my money..
😂
You dont need to really do this but if you have really short hair and wawy hair you can try my routine as my hair is healthy and silky from it!
-oil atleast once a week and keep the oil for 5 hours or more
- shampoo one or two time youre choice and condition only once in normal cold or warm water.
-use only small amounts of the shampoo and conditioner
- be gentle and shampoo your scalps and roots properly
This is my simple routine but remember every hair type is different ❤❤❤
Look I have been shampooing my hair just once. From my experience shampooing twice does give a more softness but not long term health as shampoo is harsh already, shampooing twice I wouldn't recommend. Yes cold water and shampooing ONLY the roots has saved my hair from split ends. And my hair is currently reaching my belly button with almost no split ends in comparison to some years back when I had split ends beginning from my jaw and wouldn't grow. Also braiding them before sleep, or tying them on the third or fourth day after the shower. And something that played a big role is using castor oil, and sometimes egg yolk to the ends. Huge difference, I even use castor oil in my eyebrows and eyelashes, huge difference as well.
I NEED THAT SCALP HAIR BRUSH THIS INSTANT
Thanks I really needed it!
The first tip is something for everyone, doesn't matter what hair type you have. Since cold water will allow your scalp to not become flaky and your hair with maintain natural oil balance as well as give shine. Your hair doesn't become frizzy either
i have type 4c hair( an afro) and just looking at the scalp scrubber i doubt it would reach my scalp because of how full and thick my hair is and even if it does all it's going to end up doing is knotting my roots
When my sister saw my hair she instantly said you have 2 choices loose all your long hair you’ve grown out for 11 years or cut it all. So THANK YOU YAY I DONT HAVE TO BE BALD
So, I have the same hair type as her (except mine is a bit wavy and thick and almost fluffy) and don’t necessarily want super silky hair, but I would like to achieve some shine and I’m definitely saving this video
I don’t use a scalp scrubber but I use salicyclic acid scalp treatment instead. It doesn’t work for everyone. If you have really dry hair that’s probably a bad idea
Yeah uhh i have super oily hair, and maybe i could use the scalp scrubber, but i can only do warm or hot water cause it helps it not be stiff and oily. And on the third one i do that sometimes its okay- but not the best for everyday, so i typically just do head and shoulders shampoo for dandruff and degreaser shampoo.
Warm water is best. Hot water dries out your hair and scalp while cold water tends to leave the build-up.
guys you don't have to use your fingertips, I use the middle part of my fingers then I slightly massage it with the middle part of the fingers, and not all hair types are the same, if something does not work for your hair then don't do it, I wash my hair 2 times with shampoo and that works for me and after I washed my hair twice with shampoo then I put conditioner on my ends NOT on the SCALP, with the conditioner in my hair then I brush my hair then I rinse, guys try to brush your hair with the conditioner in I'm not saying it works for everyone but try it, it made my hair very soft, and try all kinds of conditioners and see which one works for you.🌸

I do all of these correct things already and this is true it actually workss❤❤❤
1. Not everyone's hair is the same, and your hair care needs will be different depending on your hair care type.
2. You don't need a scalp scrubber, and honestly I'd probably only recommend one if you have a lot of hair because it might make it easier/quicker? That's what I've heard at least. I personally don't have one and I have an average amount of hair I'd say, just pasty shoulders length wise.
3. The second wash is not what cleans your scalp, the first is. The first cleans and gets rid of all the build up you have. You don't have to shampoo twice if it isn't good for your hair. I wash twice, but i use significantly less shampoo on the second and it's legitimately just to make sure I cleaned it well on the first wash (I can usually tell if I have a TON of suds on the second wash how well I washed).
Again, do what's best for your hair and your routine. You don't have to train your hair if it doesn't work. Oiling might not be good for your needs. Constantly exfoliating might be bad. You need to figure out what works for your hair. Talk to/listen to people who are actually registered in this field to talk about this stuff. Personally, a good source I've seen is Blowout Professor. He's a certified cosmologist, and he owns his own salon. I looked at some products and washing tips he recommended and it's been very helpful to my hair. I don't know if he'll be a help for you, but I figured I'd share a possible good resource.
I love shampooing twice. I use two kinds, one is a brand called maui and second is hair thicking one. I always struggle what I think in lil dandruff patch, found shampooing twice got rid of it. Definitely recommend to remember everyone has different hair types so do what ur hair loves.
thank you i was struggling 💗
oiling is the best thing, i for my hair just put it for an hour and wash it very nicely only once because too much shampoo isnt good no matter what the stylists say. washing twice will remove all of the oil if u want that but i personally like a little oil on my hair but not too much cuz i hate sticky stuff
actually hot water helps make brushing curly hair easier as well as make it softer and healthier.
Scalp scrubbers aren't for everyone. I used to use one and it ripped out bits of my hair and hurt my head. I use my fingers and it's great, just make sure your hands are clean so that no bacteria goes into your hair.❤
Recently ive learned about the double shampoo. Because sometimes my first wash doesnt get soapy, but the second does. So less shampoo on the first to get it saturated and ready for the second wash
The first tip should be followed by everybody, especially by those who have curly, coarse and/or frizzy hair. I used to shower with really hot water and now that I wash my hair separetely with cold water I have more defined curls and way less frizz
FOR MY DRY HAIR GIRLIES🛑🛑
i actually don’t recommend doyle shampooing EVERY shower maybe just 1-2 times a week. i’ve tried doubling it and my hair was SUUPER dry so i recommend doing it when ur hair needs it, for example like in ur “everything” shower😘😘🫶🏽
Girl, with the hair I have, the music fits perfectly
!Caution!
I advise against washing twice!
I did it for a year following a friend's recommendation... never had any problems with dandruff or anything like that before. Then I even developed psoriasis. Then I only washed it once again and after a year the psoriasis was completely gone, but after 2 years I still have a dandruff problem!
as a person with oily type of skin i recommend this tips, but if you have normal type it can be to much exfoliation and shampoo for your skin, which can cause dryness and irritation, so be very careful and wash your hair like this 1-2 times a week. To people with dry hair/scalp I definitely don’t recommend this
