    What is in a "...hello"? The best video intro in all the internet realms. A welcome reprieve from the obnoxious and performative content creator sphere. A warm hug from an old friend.

    When I was a kid I first thought it was an electric guitar because Warhammer was so metal

      It's rather like the castle that's a guitar on the album cover of "Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow"

    When I visteded Neuschwanstein it was snowing and really was like being inside a fairytale. There were even sleighs pulled by Reindeer IRC as you trudge your way up the forested hilltop. Worth a vist and if you do go, go in winter an dpick a day when it is snowing.

    Ive always been fascinated by that little logo. I always wanted a model of it; and im surprised that didnt happen for warhammer fantasy battle. In particular when larger terrain pieces in plastic started to become common. The other thing that caught my interest was the warhammer 40,000 citadel logo; much the same but if you look close there are a couple gun turrets added to the classic castle. Ive only seen the 40k variant on a few publications before it seems to have disappeared.

    I was born in 1992, and I was never into Goblins and Wizards as a kid, but damn do your videos make me nostalgic for the days I would walk by those dusty mini-shops you'd see at the local strip mall.

    The tower also appeared on the 2016 Scenery Painting Set (being painted by a Demon), the late-2000s hobby products' packaging grey tile background was said to be "the very bricks of the Citadel castle" and the Wizard's Tower from Mighty Empires miniature also bore a striking resemblance :).

      Some excellent points! I didn’t remember that picture on the terrain paint set but that’s great!

    Great vid :)
    Will def check that blog out too!
    Strictly speaking though, I think what you’re referring to isn’t exactly a logo, but a ‘marque’ (and the written ‘Citadel…’ is technically a logotype). Pedant designer, moi?
    Either way though this vid made me all misty-eyed. Must dig out my Realm of Chaos books forthwith

    The Citadel logo is the iconic fantasy tower for me. So much so that I incorporated it into the Deathwing company banner for my 40k Dark Angels army.

    The Mighty Empires game had an accessory blister pack of strongholdscand castles. The Citadel castle is one of them. It's a beautiful METAL miniature. Tho sadly, I think it's white metal and not that wonderful Lead. I sold my Mighty Empire stuff, except for that castle blister. ❤️

    That original edition of the "Citadel of chaos" was the first ever Fighting Fantasy book i bought with my pocket money. All this time i never realised the cover was a reference to Citadel miniatures!

    Saw you at Warlord on Saturday Jordan, was going to say hi and thank you for the great content but we turned a quick cigarette by the bacon van into a less quick jump over to GW and I think you were gone when I got back. I always like it at Warlord, they're a nice bunch. I'm only in Stoke so it's nice to have the lead belt so close by. Hope you enjoyed the day mate.

    I thought the Citadel logo was a guitar for two or three years before I figured out it is a castle. No joke.

    • @Ridmarr
      @Ridmarr ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Same for me here, I always thought that it is actually a guitar and when I've understood that it is not, I still thought, that it was inspired by Stratocaster's guitar shape

    • @jordansorcery
      @jordansorcery  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It seems there's plenty who thought the same, and I absolutely wouldn't put it past late 70s Ansell and the gang!

    • @jordansorcery
      @jordansorcery  ปีที่แล้ว

      I wasn't familiar with the cover, but I can see what you mean - there's a definite resemblance!

    I always thought it was the tower from the John Blanche painting on the back of the HeroQuest book. If I ever get a job Jordan first thing I'm going to do is sub to your patreon

    • @jordansorcery
      @jordansorcery  ปีที่แล้ว

      At the back of the UK Wizard's of Morcar manual there's a reproduction of Blanche's Hrothyogg's Tower (which has also been called Ogre's Tower), and I can definitely see the resemblance! I think Blanche originally illustrated it for Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, and it turns up in a fair few places, so I wouldn't be surprised if he'd drawn some inspiration from the logo!
