Erik already knows Logan's signature smell, namely Adamantium.
Logan's reason for Erik's headquarters was just to make sure that Jean went with him, but Erik spontaneously immediately disabled Logan who wanted to take Jean home.

Everybody shits on the last stand, but it has some great scenes like this, Logan getting rag dolled by Magneto.
Is it lower quality than x2?
Of course.
But it's not without it's merits.
The soundtrack was memorable, in that it's hard to forget it.
The morality of a cure was interesting.
Magneto leaving behind a cured mystique to illustrate his resolve (and hypocrisy).

Last stand is a lot like Terminator 3 or Salvation. It seemed kinda bad at the time, but has aged okay. It's definitely better than some of the stuff that came later.
The problem is not the movie. X3 is really good. The problem is that the measurement is X2, which is almost perfect.

This is only a tiny fraction of what Eric is capable of.
Magneto here was amused Wolverine thought he could accomplish anything at all near him. He was never particularly impressed by him, but this was a level of foolishness he thought Wolverine would know better. But then the amusement ended when Wolverine suggested that Magneto let Charles die, as Magneto probably does wonder if there was any way he could have saved his friend, and so ends the conversation and flings Wolverine away like a broken toy that no longer was any fun to play with.
Glorious.
In x-men apocalypse you see how powerful he is and in the comic he is most likely even more powerful & can pick up Mjolnir with his powers without being worthy

This scene ends with Logan all busted up from falling from the trees, and there’s no need to establish that he survived the fall.
I always kind of laughed at that.
I think its strange that hes wounded in the front and his clothes are ripped but he clearly just impacts the tree with his back really hard. Even flying through the trees like that its more likely that his backside would be messed up, not the front.
The casting of these movies remains one of best things to ever happen to comic books.
And 75% is pure luck and last minute replacements.

Magneto is the worst possible match for wolverine but go back a few years to when wolverine had bone claws and it would be a completely different story.

For additional trivia, the aftermath is where it's first shown that Logan had claws of bone all along, and that the metal simply covered them.

Loved that scene it explains why magneto, Wanda,. Polaris and quicksilver don't kill logan. Seeing all 4 could. Quicksilver having the hardest time but doing it faster than the others for him it would feel like a week.

This comment reminds me of the 2000 X-Men film scene in the Statue Of Liberty where Magneto bounds them in the metal from the structure and tells Wolverine: 'And you, just point those claws of yours in a safer direction' before bounding his arms in a position where Wolverine literally had to stab himself in order break free.

Once the metal is extracted from his body, how will Magneto stop him? Wolverine becomes even stronger without the metal, and even messing with the iron in his blood cells likely won't be enough to stop him because of his rage (he'd be pissed after getting his bones ripped off lol) and healing factor

“You stood there and let him die” that actually is quite unfair of Logan. Erik did try to stop Jean but she had him pinned to the wall; he was as helpless in that moment as Logan himself was. I think it’s only when he traveled back to 1973 that Logan really comprehended the depth of Erik’s relationship with Charles and how wrong it was for him to accuse Erik of not caring about Charles’ apparent death.
Why bother playing dramatic music when the guy who regenerates gets hurt?
Assuming magneto knows how old sabertooth is, he could also very well know Logan is his brother, born around the same time. Even if he didn’t wouldn’t he think it was kinda strange there was a guy on his own team that had an extremely similar healing factor and claws that came out of his hands. He’s a genius, no doubt he figured that one out
