Jose, you have talent! Excellent voice, vocabulary, and smile. I know this area well: graduated from ESSC, loved shopping at the old Wycoff's department store, Newberrys I thought I knew it all but learned a lot from your video, especially about Promised Land, and Milford. so much to see in Milford!! Being a retired school teacher, and to help you when you get on Jeopardy!,PA is one of four commonwealths of US, not a state. just saying keep the videos coming!!
Wow young man thank you so much for this video it makes me want to visit as it looks so cozy and brings back memories of the good ole days. God bless you
I'm in southwestern PA. Went to a college located in one of the towns on the Main Line just outside of Philadelphia. That was some 40 years ago. But in all these years, I have never made it over to the area of the Poconos. Thank you for this beautiful and informative video. 🧡
If you ever do, Poconos is such a beautiful and amazing area which I only covered such a small piece. I've been living hear for 25 years and really love the place.
@@JoseOnTour Thank you so much for your reply. About 15 years ago, I bought a home in my hometown area and moved out of my family home I grew up in. I had returned as a caregiver to my elderly parents and my grandmother. But after their deaths, I moved to this house I am in now. My friends who were living in New Jersey at the time begged me to move to Jim Thorpe, PA. Back then, there weren’t so many videos online. If there had been a video like yours, I would have moved to that side of the state. I definitely will be visiting that area one day. All of Pennsylvania is stunning in natural beauty. ❤️
Thank you, Jose, for a great video. I live in the Poconos, and it's a beautiful place to live. You should check out Jim Thorpe, PA on your next visit. You will love it.
great video. You should have went to the top of camelback mountain, you could see the Delware water gap, windgap, NJ, NY, and the Catskills from there!
My hometown is Stroudsburg Pa I grew up and went to Stroudsburg school (K-12) I love Stroudsburg Pa it's so beautiful all year around ❤ matter of fact you was by my house when you shot that video of the cars turning into main St from the courthouse I used to live across the street onto the corner of S7th And Ann St right across from the post office.. OMG I used to sit at the waterfall everyday walking back from Walmart in east Stroudsburg or coming back from KFC or McDonald's or just taking my daughter out for a walk I used to sit under the bridge god it was my favorite spot and it was so breathtaking.. she definitely floods really really bad when there's a hurricane.. I miss my hometown
Very nice job!!! Thanks for posting. I learned a lot about this undiscovered land (at least for me). I think over the summer i will take a weekend and go and see some of the sites. Please include some places to stay on your videos if you don't mind. I am going to subscribe.
thank you so much. If you do make a trip to the Poconos I recommend the couples retreats like (Pocono Palace, Cove Haven, or Paradise Stream). If you want to have some water park fun I also recommend Camelback and Great Wolf Lodge.
I lived in Pittston most of my childhood and hated it. There is Christopher Columbus statue still there in Pittston? We moved to East Stroudsburg and I went to East Stroudsburg high school. Do they still have the “little brown jug” football game between Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg everything Thanksgiving?
@@SilverHonda0767 I live in the area and the statue is still there. They’ve added a lot of cool murals representing the coal history to modernize it a bit and the tomato festival. It’s seeing some changes with a couple of hip businesses and coffee shops.
@@JoseOnTour thank you for getting back to me so quickly. Back in a day; there was a school I believe at Broad Street? It’s now a nursing or retirement home? The school used to be called Garfield elementary.
An invasive fungus is wreaking havoc on local oak trees. Oak wilt disease is fast-moving, killing some trees in less than a year.fast-spreading disease that causes leaves and branches to wither and eventually die. Symptoms include dark and light stripes on the leaves, and the tree shedding its leaves. The disease is caused by a microscopic nematode that invades the tree's buds and leaves. As of June 2023, there is no known cure for beech leaf disease, but researchers at Penn State are working to learn more about it and how to combat it. To help prevent the spread of the disease, you can follow firewood regulations, such as limiting firewood movement to 50 miles or avoiding moving firewood from areas where you've observed symptoms.
Another awesome video, what gorgeous scenery!!
Thank you Cheryl, always appreciate the feedback
Resident here for years this vid made me appreciate the lighter and more beautiful side of this area. thanks.
I am a resident as well and totally agree. We are blessed to live in such a majestic area. Great and informative video!

You should have gone to Matamorris pa on the Delaware River. It's where the states of PA, NY and NJ meet. 3 points. You can be in 3 states at once!
I love Matamorris. I worked at the Sneaker King there for many years. Leaving that for a nice Summer PA video.
What a great video! You should do a round two, there’s so many great areas in the Poconos!

The Poconos went there with my wife. Great place.
They have really great couples retreats like Pocono Palace and Paradise Stream, the resorts with the Champaign glass hot tub

I remember my father getting drunk and laying in the grass by the Christopher Columbus statue. They used to be a bar near there called DeMarco‘s.

Jose you need to do a great work on the history of Mexican Americans on California and how they lost their homes to build a Dodger’s Stadium..
