Finally, a real world test by a normal driver! I would say it did pretty decent given these highway tires and weight of the car. Great job! Thanks a lot!

I think the point here folks is we know the tires are shit. And not meant for this sort of test or terrain if you will. However, what it DOES show is what the average person might face if they are in this vehicle with a set of OEM tires stock from the dealership. In that regard it's a competent enough AWD system that will get you unstuck without worry. However, if you put a set of Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail tires on this vehicle. It would be quite unstoppable.

Mainly proves it'll send power correctly, tires aren't right for this...pretty impressive honestly, wet mud sucks

You could definitely tell when diff lock was engaged (for much of this it wasn't). With more suitable tyres I would expect much better performance.

This mud test does't give me any idea of what this car can or can not with these tires on. You don't put on a dancing shoes when you must have your hiking shoes on.

I own a 2013 Santa Fe so there may be some advantages or possibly some disadvantages this newer vehicle has. I will say the Hyundai can do decent in light off road and light off road with more challenging conditions "mud or deep snow". The tires will make the biggest difference however the driver needs to know how to use the drive modes and have some knowledge how to go off roading.

That is really dissapointing about H-TRAC although the tyres are very important. It's not even a proper off road but a road on which you can find yourself on a rainy day going in nature.
