And...... I'm interested in your Victron ESS set-up in Node Red. This the main reason Im going through the pain of leaning Node Red. I want to do something similar on our Victron System .😎
I like that that you call it "pain" to learn it, haha. I do plan to cover this in a future video! So hopefully it won't be too late for you when I get to it. You can install Node-RED onto a Cerbo GX itself, however I will cover my setup which is controlling it from a separate Node-RED instance (Home Assistant Add-on) as I would prefer not to cause potential instability to the Cerbo and let it do the core stuff that it's good at. Hopefully it will help you.
Hi can I ask if you could reload this video to TH-cam as the picture quality is poor. Really like the way you put the information across but I can see what you are typing. Thanks.
Thanks for the comments and feedback, appreciated! Have a check of your TH-cam settings whilst watching the video. Frustratingly TH-cam has a habit of playing at 720p or worse, even if you've set your app settings to higher. I've double-checked on a couple of devices and it should be very clear if it's on 1080p, which is the same resolution as my monitor itself.
Ah. I haven't updated to the latest version but they have changed service call to action in Home Assistant so yeah it's probably been changed in the latest Node-RED add-on version too.
Hello there! Can I ask a couple of things about your setup first... Are you using the Node-RED add-on with Home Assistant or are they separate? If using the add-on then you should just be able go into an entity node and create a new connection and tick the box saying it's an add-on and then every Home Assistant node you use going forwards will use that connection. Otherwise if it's separate, you will have to type in your Home Assistant url and create a long lived token.
One of those great little gems you happen across once in a blue moon, thanks!
Man, you are a great teacher! You video helped me a lot. Thanks a lot!
This video was a tremendous help to me. Thank you very much for making it!
thanks, listening to your explanation I was able to solve my problem building a "sensor message string" with random values

Can you please do a video on using node red to do a flow that turns light. On at sunset and off at 10 pm. Just so I can learn
I have a video coming up which incorporates a couple of similar requests, so will include this one!
@@lets-automate thank you. Simple ones like this will help me understand the flow (pun intended) better.
Hello. I have big problems with connecting the TCP server to Home Assistant via node red. Can I get a personal consultation?
