This video has a certain irony for me. I am in the UK and own a Honda CBF1OOO, which has a detuned fireblade engine. It is currently in for replacement of failed stator and rectifier. Apparently when one of them goes it caused the other to fail. Good video.

@@dezmondwhitney1208 whether it’s detuned or not. “Just one problem” with these engines.

@@justaride1474 From what I can see, a motorbike battery is small and tries to keep the electrical system going. With all the anti pollution add ons enforced upon nore modern bikes combined with extra electronics; even HISS and EFI, it just seems to put extra strain on the electrics so they wear out. Maybe that has something to do with it? I am not sure but maybe.

The link came out to about $300 US dollars, so I bought em individually with the gasket and came out to about $185 US dollars, hopefully this works
    Thanks for the video

My f3 regulator went up in smoke. I’ve heard people with gsxrs having regulator rectifiers fry too. My guess is the high rpms of the engines is what cooks them

Usually accessories do it. Like HID’s etc. yet don’t realize if you want to add to the electrical system you need a more powerful stator and rectifier to handle it.

I blame the high temperatures demanded by modern emissions requirements. Having these stators operate in temperatures up to 120 degrees (C) is just too much. I changed out my fan switch on my Hornet from the stock 100 (C) unit to an 85 (C) unit. The highest oil temperature I´ve recorded is 92 (C) on a scorching day. I suggest everybody make the same change.

B4 u buy make sure u do the voltage tests. Charge battery fire it up see if its giving voltage charge should be above 13volts showing charging. If it is then chk weak battery? Otherwise voktage drops means no charge then chk stator ir rectifyer. Illuminate b4 u spend.

    Hi,
    I have a 1996 rrt SC33 UK model.
    30,000 miles it's done.
    It's mint.
I've owned it for 13 years
I've recently changed the rectifier as it was getting very hot.
I bought a usb / voltmeter display/ cigarette lighter thing that connects to the battery via a fuse. (It's very useful)
I've housed in on the H frame and it sits perfectly.
When not running it displays 12.4 volts and 5 amps.
And when running it displays 14.4 volts and 5 amps.
    So all is well yes?
    Anyways...
The bike runs beautifully but the stator area does get very hot even before the engins casings.
    Are 1996 fireblades problematic too?
    Should I get another ?
    Best regards.
see my ch a. N n el perhaps?

Anything else about the 919/fireblade to be aware of? There is a pristine on near me for a really good price. FYI, I raced an SV for a while. Mine was older (1st gen) but a great bike to race. I had raced GSXR750's for a while and got to old for them 😁. I remember a 15yo Nicky Hayden (RIP) riding around the outside of me in T1 at Road Atlanta regional club race like I was chained to a stump. 100% class act also as even at 15 he pulled in on the white flag lap as to not steal the glory from the club racers. He was a diff level even then and it was just memorizing to watch him.

Bro this video is a lifesaver! Ive just fitted my ebay ones too, here in the uk honda want just under £1000 and thats just for the parts without labour, im literally doing the job as i write this and cannot thread the stator wire threw the frame, pretty sure mine wasnt threaded through there to start with, is it bad if i thread it around the outside of the frame like how i found it? Im guessing mines been replaced before...

I've got an 04 as well. 32k miles on it. Just replaced the stator and flywheel. I read online that honda recalled the stator and flywheel on the 04's and I couldn't tell if i had the original flywheel on the bike still so i figured i'd just play it safe. There was impressions on the inside of it from the stator pressing against it anyhow. I did check the rectifier and tested it and for now, it seems it is working as it should. Might've replaced that too had i watched this video first lol

If you got over 20k on one stator. That is deff not a problem that’s normal. I don’t expect that thing cooked in hot oil to live a long life. Yours sure did though. Wow. Most folks don’t even keep a bike longer that 10,000 miles muchless 100,000km

@@justaride1474 personally I dont get how they can charge extortionate labour prices and still expect customers to come back.
I removed my forks 2 years ago to do some fork seals, being lazy I rang a bike mechanic for a price, bearing in mind I had all parts including the oil, I had removed both legs and they wanted to charge for 5 hours labour just to replace the seals.
It didn't even take that long to remove the forks , replace bushings and seals, oil, re assemble and re fit the forks myself, and im not a mechanic, im an engineer by trade.
Absolute rip off merchants most bike mechanics.
Once the forks were out, it wasn't even an hours work .🤷‍♂️
