Good tip on locking cabinets, i noticed a lot of medical carts are like this, and sometimes see them for sale/surplus and thought about trying them for my workspace.. That green screen is awesome!
I wish I was so organised. I have a small space and it’s always a mess. I get as far as putting a few things in part drawers and labelling the drawers, but it in general it’s just stuff everywhere! Unfortunately, I’d rather be working on a project than working on my space organisation. I have to work on that. 🤔
It’s inspiring to see how others deal with cramping too much stuff into a small workspace. Labelling everything is something I’m going to copy from you. Thank you for sharing, Becky!
Hi Becky, new subscriber here. This is a great video on efficiency. I use only half of a bedroom to have my design, electric and cnc workshop in. I definitely appreciate the well thought out use of space in your workshop.
I have followed you for a long time and always found you to be very good at what you do, I am now pleased to see you have removed the nose ring, and you look better for it, thanks for showing your workshop looks good.
This is great! You have such a wonderful shop. I'm envious of having so much space to work, and it's incredible seeing how well-utilized yours is. I love how charming _and_ functional your workshop is. :D
1:22 Yes! I picked up a used Brother label maker and 3rd party label cartridges, and I'm surprised how much use I get out of it. Extremely handy for all sorts of hobbyists & makers.
This is absolutely so cool and girlboss (in a good way). I hope to learn the skills you have to work on my own projects. Thank you so much for sharing!
You are able to fit so much more in an aesthetically pleasing way in a small space then I can with my house, lol. Definitely will have to take some inspiration from this video.
I can't imagine working with such a constrained space. My hobbies consume 2+ rooms in the house, the entire garage and much of two other sheds. Fortunately I live in a small rural town.
Nice little shop and efficient for earning a living. Waiting for you to let us when going to upgrade from a technician to a general class amateur radio license.
Great space! I'm planning to move to NYC next summer, and I have two of those rolling tool chests just like yours. I've pretty much accepted that I'll probably have to get rid of them though. How did you get yours up stairs? Or does your building have an elevator?
@@BeckyStern Sweet! I'll be sure to ask my movers then. To your point about unpredictable deliveries, when mine were delivered they were in boxes, stacked vertically on a wooden pallet, then left outside my apartment building without any notification haha. That was a fun day 🙃 Also side note, depending on where I end up I'm thinking of going with a Murphy bed setup with swinging shelves. That could open up more floor space and shelving for goodies. Maybe something similar could be used for a large work table instead of a bed - I know I've seen a couple people do that with Shapeoko CNCs!
as a metric user my brain went "ah yes 200 square meters" and then "why is it so tiny" cos brain went meters not feet, took me way to long to work out what was wrong
I was the same. When I saw the tittle, the first thing my mind went to is… how big is 200 square feet? Don’t know if I’m right, but I figured a square metre must be about 9 or 10 square feet? So maybe that’s a 20 square metre space? Maybe I’ll google it next. 😂
I've got a full size bandsaw in the garage and while the larger cutting width is nice, I really don't see much of a reason to have something this big anymore. The blades for it cost an arm and a leg and I mostly use it to cut small stuff. Definitely not an item that is worth drooling over unless you really need it.
7:35 As a Brit I found this shocking. Our waste collection is once every 3 weeks, but recycling is every week. We (a family of 4) generate about 1 bag of non-recyclable waste a week, with one child in nappies (which takes up most of that bag).
Do you live in a place big enough to store outside bins? No bins here, stinky kitchen trash goes directly from my bin to the curb. Bigger buildings will have a trash chute/compactor in the basement.
Just finished screaming at Ikea because the delivery contractor just decided not to deliver. No reason given so I empathize about getting stuff delivered. Love your jewelry bench.
Nice video and shop. Amazing what you can do with limited space. Mahalo for sharing! 🙂🐒
I love your description of your greenscreen as a transdimensional surface! That's what they are!
Great job on the green screen, I have to Google it everytime I need to fold mine 😅
I love seeing all the organization and multipurpose stuff. It’s perfect. 😊

Great use of the space and organization, Becky!
Wonderful space! I love when a workshop has some character :^)
I love your workshop layout and your label maker. 🙂 Thanks for sharing this with us.
You have a lovely voice, i can't stop listening to you for some reason. and i love your space too, good work :)
You'd make Adam Savage and Laura Kampf proud. Love the sweet Kraftwerk reference on the wall!
Great workshop tour Becky, thanks for sharing

A great Sunday - From Macro Laura space to Micro Becky space
A happy coincidence!

Great tour! Loved your resistor code cross stitch - way cooler than my method of just keeping a tab always open in my web browser :)
I really appreciate the efforts that you spent on your job. Well done Becky, you are my legend!

Thank you and welcome!
I have followed you for a long time and always found you to be very good at what you do,

Awesome! I love how well laid-out everything is; it's great!
Thank you! Cheers!

Thanks for making this. I am setting out a workshop in a spare room that as small as your work shop so all the tips are helpful
This was super inspiring! I also love my label maker and I just found out that I can get shrink wrap tubing that my label maker can print on
Brilliant Becky! I love the 90 degree shelf brackets you made with plumbing parts!
1:34 The biggest silica gel packet ever. Love it. Please tell me it's full of silica gel packets.
It's not NOT full of silica gel packets... 😆
I was hoping it was a throw pillow.
Love the space! I’m working on an indoor workspace for the colder months and this gave me some great ideas
I can't imagine working with such a constrained space. My hobbies consume 2+ rooms in the house, the entire garage and much of two other sheds. Fortunately I live in a small rural town.
High ceilings and large windows really add to the 200sqft 😀
Nice little shop and efficient for earning a living. Waiting for you to let us when going to upgrade from a technician to a general class amateur radio license.
Loved seeing the space! You’ve fitted so much in. I really enjoy seeing how people set up their spaces and you have it organised so well! 😍
This is great! I'm moving to NYC next year and I've been wondering how I'm going to downsize my workspace.
Here after the makers secret santa! :)
Thanks for the tour, I enjoyed it! Your instruables merch were the last straw for me.. subscribed!
Awesome! Thank you!
I wish I was half as organized as you!
Me gustaria que hagas un video de tus trabajos....no se que elaboras...que vendes, etc. muy buena organizacion
I have a 5’ by 10’ shed that’s just begging to be styled out be I’m in a wheelchair 🦼
Yet no clue what to do or how to start . Until now . Thank you 🙏
This makes me want to be your friend so bad! 🤣🤣🤣😅
nice space great tools
wicked space
cut up amazon sleeves as shipping supplies, just like how I do it, very nice.
Thanks!
Can you give me more details on that ergo mechanical keyboard? I have been looking one like it for some time.
It's called X-bows
As Adam Savage says, there's always more room on the Z axis and you're showing that off well!
Quick question, which keyboard is that?
X-bows!

I paid wayfair to bring it inside and remove the box. Movers will be able to handle them if they are empty!

Americans just admit metric is waaaaay better than imperial

Thanks for sharing! But I /want/ to really need it... 😆
"i really should sort out my desk, after all that flux and wire is there somewhere", looks over at the boxes n tubs in front of it, "Tomorrow maybe?"
This might be a stupid question. But, do you live there as well? Or is the workshop just the workshop?
Yep, the workshop is the largest bedroom in my Brooklyn apartment.
Su "pequeño" espacio en newyork debe costar como 4000 usd al mes de alquiler y de pequeño no tiene nada para la zona en la que está jeje
