Nice to see that Boeing 747 coming in to land at Heathrow. They were still a bit of a novelty in 1972, having been introduced to transatlantic flights two years before. Like the great players we see on this channel, and the old grounds, the 747 is now a part of history.

The East Stand that was to bankrupt the club has just started construction giving an unusual view of the Brompton Cemetery. There are temporary dugouts that look like garden sheds on that side as a consequence so presumably the changing rooms were in a Portakbin somewhere? The days when instead of a shaved head, a comb-over was considered the height of style. Why does no player get muddy anymore?

Great to see so many new vintage BM shows appearing. Originals too, not the edited/ repackaged BMR ones. This one has LCFC v W Ham as it's last game, one of my first ever visits to Filbert Street. Haven't seen these highlights for nearly 50 years, since they were shown on ATV's Sunday show ' Star Soccer'. Thanks folks!

Oh no its the big match. Was always heavily biased in favour of London clubs. It was always Chelsea, crystal Palace, West ham or qpr. Not spurs or arsenal so much though.
Of course the Big Match favoured London teams! The programme was made by London Weekend Television!!
And Granada TVs version favoured the Manchester clubs , Yorkshire TV the Sheffield clubs and Leeds.
@@tomthomassony8607 I watched it at the time in a non London itv area and it was always the same. It was shown nationally . I wasn't aware that local regions got local games.
