Hello comment readers... I also had this problem for the last 5 days but none of these emailing and other troubleshooting steps worked.
Then after reading the WhatsApps auto device verification policy, I got the way.
You just have to create a Facebook or Instagram account with the phone number, on the same device you want your WhatsApp verification ...and most importantly have to save the login info when promted.
I will advice you to first unistall whatsapp then create the facebook account.
Also give sms and phone permisssion to whatsapp from the settings.
Then whatsapp should verify your device through missed call.

I will suggest you to uninstall whatsapp first before creating Facebook account.
