The warping when only one side of the board is glued is very normal. It's because only one side was wetted. You already figured it out, but once you add PVA/wet glue to the other side of the board the pull will cancel each other out and go back to flat.

Your videos are wonderful! I love watching people bind books, it's very calming and I learn things I can apply to my own books.
I have a question about the warping. Have you changed the PVA you use? Moisture content in glue varies by type and brand. The more moisture in the glue, the more likely your paper and boards will wrinkle and warp. I was surprised to hear that you used a glue stick on your books because that type of glue dries and becomes brittle over time, so it loses its adhesion and things come apart. The same goes for Mod Podge and the double sided tape, they're just not good for long term holding. I'm not criticizing your art in any way, I'm just throwing out a few thoughts and suggestions that I'm learning along the way myself.

Awwww the mail truck is so cute. Your curtains are very crisp and beautiful. Your work is always so perfect. I suspect some perfectionist is alive in your personality Chanel. And that's great in many instances. It makes for wonderful end products. But it also messes up lives many time if pushed too far...as my mother found out from my father. Happy bookmaking and I too watch the great British baking show. It makes me want to become a baker, bookmaker and many things. Alas it won't happen. The bookmaking I think might but im 72 and I cannot accomplish it all. What do you think....should I try? I love bookmaking. And you don't need to TRY to make a showstopper. I have seen many showstopper from you. Oh my yes many..

This is so inspiring and calming. I’m curious about the sponge you are using to spread the glue. Is it easy to clean? What happens if the glue dries? Do you soak it in water? And how long does it last before you have to buy a new one? Thank you😊
Hmm I rinse the glue out of them right away and have a handful of brushes on hand. I buy a pack from Michaels maybe... once a year.

Had to turn on the AC in February? wow, cannot image what's like in the summer. Your chipboards bend but had never happened before, the reason could be the change of weather. It is much hotter in LA than in Vancouver, the humidity and heat can affect the chipboards.

For a 100 day project, what about where you make a book, but you make everything. Make the paper. Make the cloth. Make the boards, binder's twine, and glue.
