Kanye sample chops was crazy back in that era some of the original songs I've heard I'm like wow he really broke the track down to sample it pure creative genius
For sure. Official DC. He was on a different level production-wise in this era. Check out episode 139 of Sample Sessions. It further shows how great a music mind he is.
@@DJObiSmalls I got one homie! This channel is crazy, instant subscriber with bell notifications turned! The request is Jin's - 'I Got a Love' produced by Kanye West, he also uses this exact same Lenny Williams sample but flips it differently in a crazy way. Both flips are dope!
Hey, Obi? I dunno if you know this, but the song "Birthday Sex" references "Cause I Love You". More specifically, "Girl, you know I-I-I...", at the chorus. But, I think it's more of a _reference_ than it is a sample, like in Overnight Celebrity's case, unless you equate references to songs and samples being the same thing?
Hey what's up Feltzer342?! There a Two types of Sampling. You have: 1. Direct Sampling (this could be vocal or instrumentation) and as the name suggests, the audio is directly taking from another song. 2. Replayed Sample (aka Interpolation). This is when a song takes inspiration (this could also be vocal or instrumentation) from another song, and in the process, yielding similar results (i.e. "Birthday Sex" and "Overnight Celebrity"... you're familiar with the lyrics from Overnight Celebrity/ Cause I Love You but you know it's not the same audio as Jeremih sings it). There are a few reasons why people use the Replayed Sampling/ Interpolation technique: 1. More creative freedom, and not being restricted in the song they are sampling. 2. Couldn't get clearance from the artist they are trying to sample. 3. Avoid copyright. Another way to understand the different sampling techniques; if me and you said the exact same thing, at the exact same time, in the exact same key/ pitch... this will still be a Replayed Sample/ Interpolation because, despite all of that, it will be impossible to sound exactly the same cause we're different people. A Direct Sample however, should you know how the producer has used/ manipulated the sample, you'd be able to achieve the exact same sound (which is what I aim to do in most episodes of the Sample Sessions series). Hope this makes sense. And lol, sorry for the long response.
What's up P YouGotThat?! Appreciate the comment. And highly recommend you use this sample. Would love to hear how you'd use it, your work is dope btw, was just checking out your beats. Keep it up. Big things to come for you.

kanye’s way of producing is like getting all the meat off a chicken bone, he used almost every part of this song
Like the analogy! Defo feel you on that.
😂😂
Fr!!🤣
The entire reason why kanye is so idolized in sampling is actually for doing the opposite 😂😂
