My tips: The game pauses while fishing and cooking and fuel is not consumed cooking anything (except for making coal). Fishing is a pretty OP food source, imo. If you fish without bait, you get clams which are used as bait to catch fish. Fillet the fish to get fish fillets and occasionally fish oil. Use the chef tab in the campfire to learn patty from the fish fillet and oil. You can take all the time you want fishing and cooking to stock up on patties, without much game time passing or getting hungrier. Some foods heal you. Coffee (heals 15), latte (30), energy bar (50) - this is currently not displayed in their tooltips. Burger also heals 50 - this IS shown in its tooltip. You don't need to sleep. Sleep only heals you, nothing else. Don't need any healing? Then don't need any sleep.
@@rotony1 The mechanical press makes planks out of biomass. There are plenty of planks on the roof so you shouldn't need it immediately, but since biomass is plentiful once you make it you should have all the planks you'll ever need.
The cool thing with the nano transporter is that when you pick something up and then right-click to cancel, it doesn't do what you might think - it doesn't return the thing back to where it was. Instead, the item is sorta held in stasis (or you can think of it as the item is held inside the transporter). Then when you equip the transporter again, you're put back into placement mode with the item you had picked up. This means you could, for example, pick up a storage chest, right-click to cancel, and walk around with it in your back pocket. I also found it beneficial to consolidate all the biomass bushes to an area near my base. Biomass becomes important later and having easy access to all the bushes saves a lot of time.
Combine seafood with water to make a seafood soup that gives a huge food bonus. You need to upgrade your fishing pole and use those worm's tail to catch the squid or whatever it is.
If you haven't figured it out yet, you need to upgrade the resource printer to be able to print foam panels. There's a small icon with an exclamation mark that tell you this. You'll need foam panels for a lot of stuff in the later game.
Well it seems I managed to screw myself.. used the metal frames I found in the garden for other stuff, before I remembered I needed to make the reinforced hammer. Now I can't get into that cryopod. Guess I'll have to start over 🤬
You can catch 4 types of fish currents, 1 with worm, 1 from enemy drops looks like horn, 1 from lure and 4th with no bait to catch clams and use clams to catch fish. All this without upgrading rod.
Some things I noticed: When using the tools, you can use the keyboard instead of clicking the mouse. Took me forever to realize lol You can also use the leech tails as bait. I haven't been able to figure out how power the resource printer. Always says it needs more power, even after upgrading the bio-generator. -edit- I did figure it out. The power wasn't the problem. The problem was needing to drag the pipes into the empty slot below the item I wanted to create.
It's not saying it needs more power. That number is just the rate of energy drain from the generator. There is no max amount supplied from the generator - it's just how fast it drains. Click the frame to select that you want to make that, drag/drop pipes from your inventory to the spot for them below the frame. Then you can click the "create" button. It's not like the other machines like the workbench where you hold down the mouse button to create stuff. You feed it, click create, go do other stuff while it SLOWLY cranks stuff out.
At the end of the video you show creating a pump. I put down the blueprints and realised I'm now stuck behind it in the cage area. I can't jump out, my game has saved with me stuck, there is no unstuck and it won't let me demolish it. I've already restarted a few times due to issues like this I think if there isn't an easy fix I will give up on this game.
Haven't made the bridge yet, so take my answer with a grain of salt, but don't think there is a way to destroy the big ones yet, (Games in EA) really only thing you can do is block it off with fences

Nice tips, thanks, but how to resolve the fuel problem? The planks stockpile is getting thinner every time I cook something.

Same here, can't get the Resource Printer to work. I have a biogenerator next to it upgraded as well. It is now enough power to charge it.

That ability to carry 2 planks/metal is from your food level. Think you need 50% or more to be able to carry 2.
there's definitely upgrade that allows you to carry more as well then but in version i played (pre - release) for sure could never carry more then one

The decoder isn't fully useless, you can get some money and items to disassemble from it too, but as you said it is mostly just skins you get.

there is an unstuck button in the bottom right of the pause screen that looks like a life ring that will teleport you back to spawn
