I didn’t want to jump on the bandwagon but it feels like it’s the road to 9-8.
When the Steelers got the TD and were up 4 Pts. There was 5 minutes left and I said to myself even if the cowboys get a TD we’re only down 3 and we’ll have 1:30 to 2 minutes left to kick and FG to tie it. But that 5 minutes just melted away into thin air. Shoutout to Robert’s for forcing that fumble on 3rd and goal.
It seemed like every throw Dak was making, was to a completely open receiver. Conversely, it seemed like Fields had to squeeze every ball in. Are the Steelers just playing soft zone? Is it a blown coverage? And why does it seem like that it never the case for the Steelers offense. I’m not knowledgeable so it may be an obvious answer. Just thought I’d ask for your insight.

Good show! Dale you said you check comments so I hope you see this. I think many of the issues can be fixed by adding WR talent and scheme changes on D. We need to keep defenses honest, even lackluster defenses stack the box and no RB will be successful against 8+ man boxes. Adding Davante or someone would be so helpful to keep them back. On D we need to BLITZ. I don’t care if it’s the gimmicky zero blitz package or a simpler blitz but we need to force mistakes. Even mediocre QBs will pick you apart if they have time in the pocket. Let’s use that great LB speed toward the QB and let the great cover corners in Donte and JPJ hold up without extra help. Your thoughts?
Bill Walsh in his prime wouldn't be able to salvage this offense. The offense has been bad for 6 years running now. Dallas QB play was much better than ours even with the picks Dak threw. Dallas attacked the edges of our defense early. That was their game plan. Maybe we need to do the same with our speed guys? Austin, Pickens, and Miller.
Receiver combination is real,the right combo of the online has to be true, and thinking outside the box on defense,wins games. Edmonds is back and I'd put him closer to the line of scrimmage,now just for more speed. And just how much $ have we paid Queen already?
Why not put Pierre in the slot ? He’s got to be better than beanie
Guys #14 has been an issue since his rookie season. How is it fair for the guys who work their a$$ off on this team to allow that.
I agree with Dale about George Pickens need to be more perfectonal. And he Pittsburght Steelers should not put up with this behavior.

Justin was not that bad last night. If the OL doesn’t give Russ enough time to throw, the boat is going to be the same
Devastating loss. Mike Tomlins run the ball stop the run plan is outdated. Justin can throw. George, JF and Pat is the ones that this offense needs to be centered around. Not Najee and the o line.

Fields isn’t perfect but what’s he’s supposed to do with a decimated O-line, a slow RB who’s really just a backup and a bottom 5 WR core?!? Fields damn near had a better situation in Chicago.. smh..

Put Minkah in the slot. He's infinitely better than anyone else we have. He was our leading tackle and the should never happen.
George Pickens is a cancer again. He's a good receiver talent wise but a piss poor teammate. Nobody will accuse George of being a high effort guy.
The reasons for that receiver's ar like this is because they ar paid too much money for no reason at all I mean they'll great but to make all that money is stupid just because of the position they play ,and another is on the coaches they let them just do whatever just because they're good players,Vince Lombardi wouldn't put up with they shit he would cut they ass quickly coaches these days don't have any control of they player's

Even with a reconfigured o-line, if the quarterback is making quick, decisive passes, it puts less stress on everyone. Fields is still holding onto the ball to long, and not throwing to guys who are open, or making quality throws. And now everyone else is a bum, because people like Fields even though he is playing poorly and making everyone else look bad.
I understand what you're saying in regards to J Fields. Unfortunately, there are some people who still are not sold on him, myself included. I've said this before, he's a really good #2 QB. A back up at best and I still stand behind it. I've seen harris wide open up the field on a wheel route waving his hands, justin threw to GP, instead. There has been few plays like this, one with VJ. J Fields is trying too hard to not make mistakes. And I'm sorry, that's just not the way to win games in the NFL. And I seriously doubt that the coaches are telling him who to throw too. That just doesnt make any sense. He's holding himself back. It should not matter what TE is where. And on that play, Justin threw the ball too high even for a guy that's almost 7 feet tall. We've been through blaming the OC for every bad QB performance. Let's not do this again.
Winning turnover battle usually means giving your team good field position not the ball on goal line after killing so much clock not all turnovers are the same.
The third guy is talking silly, the only announcement that Coach T has made this year is that Russ is the starter, who was injured and is now healthy, so why wouldn’t you start your starter.
The difference in the Dallas game was QB play. 3rd downs, TOs & penalties are all just window dressing IMO. I like Fields & hope they sign him long-term but for as bad as Dak was at times, he still consistently made plays & moved the ball & Fields either can't or isn't being allowed to for coaches fear of TOs. I think its time to see what this offense looks like w Wilson. If its still stagnant its a Smith problem. If it takes off, then we know how much Fields needs to grow. Either way we will know what to build on from here.
We need to stop taking low character receivers in the draft. Yeah Tomlin kept AB on the tracks for years but ABs effort was never the issue. He was a pain in the ass, but he always gave 110%. There were warning signs with Claypool and warning signs with GP. Claypool turned out to be a bust and GP is headed the same way.

This will be another 9-8 season if we don’t get another WR 1/2! As much as I hate to say it but with all the injuries, penalties, WR drama, lack of depth it’s hard to be positive. Typical Steelers losing multiple games in a row to opponents that absolutely aren’t better than them. I would t be surprised if we lose this Raiders game, we love to lay an egg against one the worst teams in history.

Would you be happy if Fields played like Dak with some of his decisions and if you watch all 22 like every qb he Dak missed opened people. Give a qb no running game, no number one receiver, and suspect o line and say win. Omar needs some blame not fire him blame for some of this and it will get better as people come back. So will get better.
Steelers had the best offense when they threw the ball, these 2 yard runs from Najee are pointless and even Ben said the best the offense looked was when they decided to throw , defense got turnovers but the cowboys did whatever they wanted when they wanted
ITS. THE. QUARTERBACK. I don't understand why Chicago's discard is all of a sudden Pittsburgh's savior. No one wanted him. He's failed to crack 160 yards in 3 of his 5 games. He's not a rookie. Calab Williams is doing much better than Fields at this point. As far as players on the field, he is the sole real reason the Steelers look so bad, and the bad teams hang around and come close to winning or win. I don't understand the grace he gets. He's terrible.
Everytime the Steelers win two in a row or three in a row the mistake everyone makes is three in a row man we’re great , before you say that stand back and look at the teams we beat , you should say are they world beaters who we just beat at they always in playoffs or superbowls if yes then you can feel better but if we beat teams that can’t score ever or always in the bottom and almost beat us the. You should not think of it as the Steelers are great sooner or later you will run into teams who can’t score ever score and are pretty good then you’ll know we’re frauds really or maybe we’re pretty good don’t jump on the bandwagon of them being great if win but barely win against some of this sorry teams because after awhile wheels are coming off and when you have a coach like tomlin who always never has his team prepared !
