My sympathies with your tragedy and consequent immense trauma for the family. We do silly things when we are young. You are lucky to be alive and recovered pretty well. It could have been much worse. I would advise you and family to take more interest in the Dharma. The Dharma will help to heal you from your mental trauma and as the mind settles down in a more calm state, your physical discomfort will also hopefully ease! All the best!
