This match was the second meeting between Rankireddy/Shetty and Li/Liu.
Li/Liu was the silver medallist of the 2020 Summer Olympics. In 2021, Li retired from professional badminton due to sustained injuries. Liu currently paired up with Ou Xuan Yi.
At this tournament, Rankireddy played both mixed and men’s doubles. Rankireddy reached the quarter final in mixed doubles with Ashwini Ponnappa.
