Yes, a form of cypress I believe. Lovely trees. You see heaps of them in atmospheric photos of Tuscany :)

Had to look up Thuja trees as there are none around here. You have captured the light and dark areas very effectively with your sculpting. Just a suggestion, but a bit of dry brushing on the tips with lime green or yellow might add even more depth.
