Spot on J.D.! ~2,700 passing yards and ~22 passing TD's isn't far from the realm of possibility for Payton. Especially, when you have a revamped offense surrounding him.
what 😂 the only reason they will have more wins this year is bc they first 5 games is at home literally and peyton thorne and they whole QB room is awful...they all played against maryland and got torched 😂😂😂 maryland didnt start they starters and had 2nd and 3rd string playing ...cam coleman will hit the transfer portal next year
Big talk from someone who's never even made it to an SEC football tryout, before you can assume how bad a player is just think about how good you actually are first
Let’s not forget that the offensive line is much improved from last year too. I’m just curious to see how a defense is gonna work when Cam, Thompson, Fairweather, an Lambert-Snith are on the field together 🤣
@@AuburnsBiggestCritic you didn't shut them down because they weren't at Auburn last year only fairweather and he was the leading receiver so shut that down
@stephenallen1237 I didn't say they were there i was talking about the offense as a whole. He's making it seem like these guys are just going to bully every defense in the sec. Both freshmen haven't even played a snap yet. Fairweather didn't do anything against sec competition last year and Lambert- smith had most of his production against mediocre big ten defense. Let's see what these guys do against good athletes and better competition.
Of course Rivaldo couldn’t get free any since he was double covered constantly, being the best receiver in the field. But like I initially said, the offensive line has improved so that naturally will give Peyton more time to get through his progressions, as well as giving routes time to develop. Of course Thorne will have to make the right reads, but there’s absolutely no reason why the passing game shouldn’t improve.
JD you are killing me sun shine pumping. Did you not see Payton in the spring A day game? Did you not see him in the bowl game. Now, if Auburn play Hank Brown different outcome guarantee.
It’s not just the NM state game. It’s the two games after that. Coach Kill gave a master class on how to manipulate Thorne and the other teams copied it. Thorne has potential, but Freeze will need a shock collar along with the speaker in the helmet.
You don’t need to give Thorne RPO options. He will run first and never throw. Script him passing plays ONLY and he will only run 25% of the time and actually get the ball to the play makers we brought in.
Thorne is going to surprise a lot of doubters this year. He knows how to run an RPO, whether to pass or run. Last year the receivers couldn’t get open so it’s hard to throw when that’s happening.
Receivers were wide open almost every play last year, watch the film fam. PT just didn't see them, or if he did the pass wasn't on time, or he just missed them. There was a litany of issues last year but it was only about 25-30% on the receivers imo
The two loses to Alabama and Georgia tells far more about Auburn’s weak areas and the loss to New Mexico State last fall. The two main key positions on the offensive team as you so appropriately pointed out are the offensive line and the receivers in that order but equally important. Why is that? (#1) If the offensive line is so bad, with an average or better quarterback, that the quarterback gets sacked, through the ball away, or turn the ball over every play the skills of the receivers don’t have an opportunity come into play. (#2) Last year receiver position should have been able to catch far more catchable balls than they did. When footballs are bouncing off their helmets and upper torso of the receivers a halve dozen times or more in a game or miss their finger tips by only inches that tell me they are not locked in 100% to catching the ball rather than worrying about getting hit. Hopefully, Auburn’s 2024 season with new offensive linemen, offensive coaches, and receivers with be a couple touchdowns improvement over last year.
8-4 and then win a bowl. Yeah win 9 games and see how hot recruiting will get. I'll take this 100% Much rather beat Oklahoma and the Aggies when they in Jordan Hare in front of all those prospects.
I think JD is on board with the good guys 🦅🦅🦅!!! 💪💪
J.D. is also on board with Wisconsin as well though

Just like any other defense who shit them down last year. This is the sec not sunbelt. This guy is pumping you fans head up like he always do.

I truly believe 9-3 or better because coach Freeze is a unbelievable offense caller
I agree WAR EAGLE
As a Auburn Tiger, I hope you are right. I will believe it when I see it.

Hugh was talking about calling nothing but running plays during spring practice on two drives in a row and thorne ended up throwing for 90 yards.

Auburn will be better but he can't get his teams ready to beat teams they should. They beat Bama 2 years in a row at Ole miss but they lost to vandy

It's not. As long as thorne is qb it's not going to work

Nobody will be successful with thorne as qb. Thorne wouldn't be good against a jv team
