I have such a profound respect for the work the NTSB does and the level of professionalism they display. Truly one of the most thoroughly ran government agencies in the US.
Wow, board rework for the NTSB has to be one of the most under-appreciated, stressful jobs in aviation. Thats a neat trick your Mantis does with the video; I wish mine did that! Thanks for the tour!
Extremely interesting information. Despite being one of the smaller federal agencies, the Board is one of the most trusted agencies in our government. Well done to everyone in the Recorders Labs for their dedication and professionalism.
now, I just have to call you the Idiot that you (really)are! :) I was a part of the lawsuit. so let me bring this down to 3rd grade level for you, Ok! :) 'MR LAHR went to court! He sued the NTSB. THE NTSB lost their case for their scenario. This was in court for about four years. The NTSB was impeached for Fraud. Any more stupid comments, lil ice head? now, go crawl back into your crib...
The NTSB needs to be disbanded. Far too much 'control' and 'political' nonsense, and bureaucracy to actually 'benifit' any REAL accident investigation. We can far do better with Non governmental investigative agencies to looki into any accidents.
@@htfhfhtjj Yes, the Truth does that to some people. When a Federal Judge finds the NTSB for 'Gross Negligence' as He did, and as the NTSB did commit fraud in the TWA flight 800 cover up, its time to pack up and move out.
This is very important to know about the cockpit voice recorder it is the main control of the airplanes there's computerized chips that store data even if in a crash the FAA required this cockpit voice recorder as the main control of the airplanes today
Many different algorithms. To do that, you have to get aircraft dataframe documentation, where you will find a description of each channel (parameter), its location within the binary file, number of time it appears every second/minute, etc and how to convert it into engineering units. Its not that simple.

TWA flight 800. Never forget...... ' RAY LAHR vs NTSB/ CIA. '
+Rob Shef Sorry to break it to you, but Ray Lahr is an even bigger opportunistic nutcase than Les Filotas.
Now that is really funny, and the most ludicrous thing anyone has ever said, >>> :)
+Rob Shef Lahr didn't "win" anything but an FOIA request. And you sound just as nutty as him.

Thanks so much for sharing. 😉👌🏻
Working at the NTSB is the dream job that I have.

Does anybody know what software we are seeing here?
Asking that the underwater ping can't be heard by the human ear is silly how would you possibly hear anything under more than a couple feet of water?
Underwater you can actually hear things from farther distance. The denser the medium in which soundwaves travel, the further they distribute.
may i ask how much it does to cost to recover data, for example flash/hdd has got fire damage, water damage??
it varies depending on the amount of data, storage medium and complexity of damage
Thx man!!
So 9/11 ???? What happened.
