I was there as an XC sport/vet racer. The Hell that Was Hunter. I never could get that mud out of my jersey. I can still remember the taste of that silty mud and how treacherous the course was - 'slicker than snot on a marble floor!' I'm proud to say I finished my race!
i was also there in riding (as much as walking my bike) in the amateur sport race and the video dosent do justice to how drenched we were that day.. that course was brutal going up and down the ski mountain and my drive train jammed and failed mid race from all the muck and then i could no longer shift gears or even pedal during the last laps and i just scootered with it to the finish, but i doubt it really made much difference to my overall result, and while i recall it was my goal at that time to finish well up among the leaders, looking back now im just happy i was able to safely finish the race..
He was a great bloke & meant well... He can be somewhat of an acquired taste but does grow on one after a while... Mark Biesegel is on here too commentating on some videos. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
I have a ton of old videos you could add to your channel any email or contact. I could send them to you..I’ve had most of these I’ve watched over the years. There would be a lot you could add like these
Hi Jess, thanks so much for the comment! if you could send me your email address that would be great! In the meantime if you could hold on & keep them safe until the World gets back to normal that would be amazing & we´ll do it! Thanks & please Subscribe.
La gente habla de las bicis, que han mejorado un montón, pero a mí me llama mucho más la atención la longitud de los circuitos y de las carreras, quizá menos espectaculares para el público o la tele, pero muchísimo más disfrutones para los corredores.

26" wheels are not so bad you know, much more responsive for technical riding. Or perhaps i had (or still have) 30 years MTB fun ?
@@LhDiy I own a 29r myself. Just making fun of the 1.9 tire size
A shame years ago that this place went from World Cup to no mountain biking at all.
