So am I. I think Newsom is a good Governor. He is hip, engaged and high energy. He has made goofs, some here in California...but overall...I adore him. I respect him even more for debating DeStupid in Florida. He made DeStupid look very bad...very often.

When Newsom was mayor of San Francisco, he officiated a gay marriage when gay marriage was illegal. He said, "Come arrest me. ".. it says a lot for who he is. ❤

Newsom did the same with the lockdowns.
I was there. He never said "come arrest me". He did say at a later rally "whether you like it or not". The state Supreme Court declared those marriages null and void. The event did however sparked the fight towards marriage equality and it became legal in California in June 2013.
And Harris was the DA overseeing it and married some of the first couples

Newsom is great. And he's right, the talent out there of upcoming Dems is astonishing. We have enough leadership ammo to keep us in the White House for generations. Let's start with shaking things up at the Supreme Court.
We need to rethink some of our procedures. The Supreme court needs to become something judges are elected into and there's a term limit. Then they have to run again. And any future prez needs to undergo a psych evaluation to show if or if he's not fit to BE a prexz. and actually SHOW his tax records. We can NEVER go down this road again.
If only we give them an opportunity to step into leadership positions. Several years ago, President Obama said in an interview, " most of the problems are caused by old people who won't get out of the way.". The most truthful and honest statement I've ever heard any politician say, since I first watched televised presidential conventions in 1956.

I'm so sick of the negative remarks about Gavin Newson! I lived here my whole life including San Francisco and sure it has it's ups and downs, but it has the richest culture, most beautiful skyline and incredible history. Exhausted hearing from the rich and the gullible in California. I can't walk to my mailbox without some MAGA neighbor hoping for a stop and chat about how we are living in a socialist country. Same people who have taken unemployment, disability and welfare. As someone who has never griped about giving taxes to those in need it just makes me shake my head in disbelief, the hypocrisy is just insane. It's about helping each other land on their feet. That is humanity!

Because it was such an honest and unselfconscious demonstration of unfiltered love, which American politics desperately needs. Its was almost difficult to look at.
I cried a lot during the DNC.Some in sadness for the school children who were shot, women assaulted or unable to get the health care they needed, but mostly I cried with joy even though I don’t know any of the participants. It was lovely seeing a son with that much respect and love for his father.

I also like Newsome but was disappointed how he sold out to PG&E.
But he needs to do more on housing specially now with SCOTUS ruling that sleeping in public can be criminalized against the homeless.

Also watched all four nights. Proud of JB for the way he hosted and so pumped up from the energy and happiness and the family values of the DNC this year. I live in a small rural area in IL with Trump flags and signs all around but we have our Harris/Walz signs on the way. Will probably have one or two stolen out of our yard like in the past but will continue to put them out. Just because Illinois is a blue state doesn't mean we don't have our share of hillbilly Trump supporters!

Big fan of Governor Newsome. Before Biden stepped down he topped my list for alternates. I totally respect him for coalescing behind this candidate rather than splintering the race.
To be fair if he kept running then she wouldn't have. She would have supported him to the end and then ran for the next one. Her decision to run came from his deciding to step down.
I wasn't as clear as I should have been. to rephrase, I respect Newsome for refraining to throw his hat in the ring to keep the party from splintering in the quest for the new nominee after Biden stepped down.

Trump seems depressed to me, very low energy. Normally I would have empathy with someone who is depressed, but not him.

I often think about how Trump is a child abuse victim. I have a two year old boy and I think about how Trump was once a two year old boy.
