If that is a true story that is an incredibly rare and humble thing for anyone to do, it’s a human response to want to gloat when confronted by someone who never believed in you but it’s speaks greater volumes when you willingly choose to not hold a grudge and be the better man, takes genuine strength to show restrain like that.

My homeroom teacher & the baseball coach at a Christian HS said if graduate d early I'd only get married young & never graduate college. I happily sent him a graduation announcement from college in less than 4 yrs. He never responded 😂

I wonder if that acting coach was pulling for reverse psycology, intentionally telling Adam to ‘try something else’ when he knew that would make him strive even more to become an actor.
In my opinion Brad tells the story in front of him because he knows he's too humble and has too much class to bring that story up himself. If anything, it confirms the point of the story.
