Destroying the bridge across the Kerch Strait is not profitable for Ukraine now, because it serves as bait for Russian air defense, which the Defense Forces are gradually destroying. This is what Ukrainian military expert Yevgeny Diky told Telegraf.
According to him, the Russians do not have enough air defense systems to cover all their military facilities, of which there are many and which are scattered over large distances. Therefore, they can fully cover only Moscow, Crimea and the front line from Ukrainian air attacks.
As for the Crimean Bridge, Dikiy noted that Ukraine has not yet destroyed it because it is using this object as bait.
"We are destroying their precious air defense near it. And we know for sure that they will definitely bring it here again," he noted. According to the expert, S-300s have already been destroyed in this location several times, an S-400 was destroyed for the first time in history, and now the Russians have announced the transfer of S-500s there.
Dikiy says that the occupiers even had to transfer the last S-300 battery there from the Kuril Islands, which left the entire Far East without cover.
Media previously reported what Ukrainian fighters will use to destroy the Crimean Bridge . According to military expert Oleksiy Getman, these should be surface-to-surface or air-to-surface missiles, which Ukraine has. He also believes that the bridge, which is a very important logistical route for the Russians, will soon be destroyed.
Serhiy Bratchuk, a veteran of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army "South", also spoke about Ukraine's plans regarding the Crimean Bridge. He is also sure that the Crimean Bridge will be destroyed . The only question, he says, is when and how. "It will be creative and unexpected even for us," Bratchuk noted.
According to military expert, former spokesman for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Vladislav Seleznev, the fortifications and engineering structures that were designed to protect the Crimean Bridge from the Black Sea are being destroyed by the sea , and this gives Ukraine a "window of opportunity."
