    Intelligent and very loyal daughter like my own. I like this. Good job. I really love anybody who sees the best in Nigerians. Anyone who was around knows 1999 was not really an election that is why OBJ was so determined to win properly in 2003 and he did it. So many Igbos stood by June 12th. It was our public holiday in Abia under Uzor Kalu but people act like Igbos are just angry for nothing. I love the award and everything but I will still vote for Donald Duke.

  • @Edtommys
    @Edtommys 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Mko Abiola was a rogue like the typical Nigerian politician. He was part of the conspiracy that made sure obafemi awolowo never became president in 1979. And we should not forget Obasanjo was the military president who awarded the controversial at&t project to mko Abiola in the mid 70s. Contrary to Tundun's opinion, mko lived and died by the sword and someone like myself have no apology or sympathy for the man who became a philanthropist at the expense of our commonwealth. Nigerians are gullible and the overwhelming support he received at the polls was not a surprise considering his humanitarian gesture across the African continent at the time. Fate and destiny are intertwined. They that have ears let them hear what posterity is telling us. You cannot rob Peter to pay Paul and get away with it. The legend of karma is a vicious cycle.

    1999 election was full of ballot snatching. Obasanjo played smart. The military really chose him. They were forced to go but they put their stooge so they could still rule through the back not knowing Obasanjo is smart. He pretended when he entered he showed him. He arrested Babagibdas first child. If Abiola had pretended he will do their wish he would be alive today. This lady knows something that should be in the public domain. June 12 belongs to all.

Her father rode on the back of the lion to devour people and the military saw him as treat if he becomes the president so she should stop making noise her father financed some coups in Nigeria and he died by same sword

    Speculations are a common expectation when it comes to issues of this nature. People are bound to opine their views and may question the rationale behind certain political moves and their timing. The Southwest, quite alright, may have voted for Buhari in the past but this time around, the political calculus has changed and the APC party may be vulnerable this time in the southwest. Hence the postmortem recognition of Abiola by Buhari can rightly be viewed as a matter of political expediency to stabilize the southwest support base.

Same as you, you can't discuss your parents without a pinch of 'sentiment', either out of love or otherwise. Many would say they are 100% objective, but a ruse. @@oluyemimcdixon7261: I don't think the defense of Tundun's position is rational.
      Yes one cannot or might not be COMPLETELY objective when it comes to ones parents but it doesn't mean that one cannot or should not be objective at all.
      What Tundun's admission implies is that she will defend everything about her father even if the atrocities committed her father is known to her and the atrocities are bad.

Buhari had few days ago told us all Nigerians that Abacha was a good man whether we like it or not. I mean Abacha of all people. His love for Abacha couldn't have put Abiola in Buhari's good books. This award was given to Abiola to spite Obasanjo, especially coming at a time both of them gave become sworn enemies. He gave that award for people to see Obasanjo as a bad one, that is give a dog a bad name and hang him. He did to turn the Yorubas against Obasanjo. And worst of all, Buhari stole Presidential aspirant, Omoyele Sowore, idea because Buhari announcement came only 3-days after Sowore made the pronouncement in Abeokuta on June 3 during a town hall meeting that he would make June 12 Nigeria's Democracy day.

Your father stole the billions from the military and had egos too was the reason he thought he could win the dangerous military, he should have at least accepted the reimbursement and flee to abroad then fight from there. Dino was quoting the constitution. Mko worn the presidency with the ill contract gotten billions from military government and the military government decided his fate. If Buhari meant good, ask him to call for the election result to be announced and Abiola declared winner, then this other steps can follow. Everything needs to follow a due process. OBJ was voted, result of election declared and OBJ ruled for two terms of eight year, that is honest truth girl , do not fool yourself. I like her. Intelligent and articulate, but ultimately wrong on substance. Sorry, but if OBJ was “appointed” by the military the same would be said of MKO’s “election”.
    Elections are a PROCESS and not an event. The military (i) formed the 2 political parties, the SDP and the NRC, (ii) wrote their manifestos - “a little to the left” (SDP) and “a little to the right” (NRC), (iii) canceled the parties organized primaries (which Shehu YarAdua was winning handily), and (iv) teleguided the so-called Option A4 candidate selection process (which is frankly the only reason an unknown political novice and lightweight like Bashir Tofa ended up as MKO’s opponent). Democracy is more than just elections, and the electoral process itself is more than just casting ballots. A PROCESS that is itself not free by definition cannot lead to free elections, and the process that led to the June 12 1993 ‘elections’ were neither free, fair nor democratic.
    Unfortunately for MKO, he sought to ride the tiger’s back to power and sadly ended up in his belly. May his soul continue to Rest In Peace (and thankfully it seems his family has found a little bit of comfort from PMB’s honor). God bless Nigeria.

    Buhari reaping where he did not sow. It is a shame, this shows that Nigerians are a bunch of demented people. Who truncated June 12? Where was Buhari when MKO and supporters of June 12 were tormented by Abacha? Why did the West denied President Goodluck Jonathan to name Unilag after MKO in 2012? Why did people like Buhari, Bola Tinibu alias bobo Chikago conspired and frustrated Jonathan from honouring MKO in 2014. The answer is simple: only a northerner can annul and only northerners ( masters of Nigeria) can honour.
