Insanely cool! I’ve been a fan of the Nightmare on Elm Street movies since I was a kid, and to this day I’m still obsessed, and that is one of the best most realistic masks I have ever seen!

Ever since these realistic silicone masks started popping up years ago I remember Batman actors and cosplayers bitching about head turning and wonder why no one has thought about using this tech to do Batman cowls!

You should powder the cream makeup around the eyes to set it before putting the mask on. Also just powdering your face/neck should help with the hot/sweaty feeling of wearing the mask.

JAMES IS AWESOME. Ive gotten 2 masks from him in the laat few months. Hes truly an amazing artist. I have this part 2 version 2. And also have part 4 Master of dreams. Part 2 is my favorite makeup of series. James really nailed it this time.

OH WOW!! Great video on the James “darkride” Updegraph Part 2 V2 silicone mask. How much was it in both USD and AUD? I’d love to get one. There is a guy in Europe who can get his hands on a Part 2 sweater and will even weather it for you. He even does a Part 2 hat as well. Soon, I’ll be getting a Part 2 sweater and hat from him. Eventually, a Part 2 silicone mask.

I just received mine recently and asked for the same paint up after seeing this video. Even being so impressed after watching this I was completely speechless after having received this in person. And mind you I've owned almost every Darkride mask that's been made. This is truly the definitive Freddy mask. I own the M.O.D. as well but the 2V2 hands down will be my go to mask. I'm definitely wearing this to the next horror con I attend and for Halloween.
I heard you sold this mask. I'm sure you had your reasons but you really should've held onto it as you had a great uncanny look with it. I know you must regret it. You should definitely get another when you can.

As an Aussie kid growing up in the 80s constantly seeing that Nightmare on Elm Street 3 cover at my local Video Ezy, which for some reason to this day I don't know why, but they had the kids section up against the wall. To the right of that wall that porno section (R rated version, but the ladies were still on the covers practically naked and t and a could be seen on the back. And literally opposite of the cartoon section was the horror section. Every time I would go to look at The Real Ghostbusters or Transformers, I could almost feel this VHS cover and Freedy looking right at me. Saw the movie when I was 7 and spent another 7 years sleeping with the light on. Ah memories.
I can no longer buy Robert's excuse of him needed to be in the makeup chair for more than 3 hours as a reason for him not doing another Freddy movie. I mean it not only looked like Freddy, but it looked like Robert made up as Freddy. Amazing stuff.

Silicone masks are not as good as makeup appliances, cause you don't get 100% movement out of it with expressions, look at Paul Bailey's Freddy makeup he did then come back to this, you'll see the huge difference
No he needs the makeup because the masks folds strange
It’s sorta like Michael Keaton’s Batman where yeah it looks cool but it does not have the level of flexibility needed like the Christian Bale one

actually. check out something called "hero hood". it's like a batman cowl without ears and he can turn his head. so why? I have no idea. especially for batman beyond
That's interesting. Maybe it's to give the appearance of sturdiness? Also, the aesthetic of the material? I wouldn't know since I'm not so well versed in this stuff.
What I'd really like to see is a hero suit without the need for an underneath muscle suit. Because of the material, you don't often see the work that the actors put into their physiques. There's a bts of the Friday the 13 remake where they put a thin piece on Derek Mears that worked with his body. I'm assuming the worry is for tears, but it'd be interesting to experiment with.
