I'll be there, mid-October 2024, for a 21-day Panama Canal Cruise. Seattle to Miami. If you don't space out your drinking, you'll be in bad shape, after a few days. Few kids will be on that cruise.
No senior should take the Encore! It’s too big, walking the huge ship tires you out. Top deck games are for the young. Lounge acts sadly lacking, beds uncomfortable, walkers will not fit through the room doors and must be folded and carried through the door. Once into the hallway, cleaning carts block passage of walkers. Incidentally , the Encore has the ugliest chandelier ever created. Most off-ship excursions require better mobility than the average senior has. On the positive side, the food was good, but in 7 days, we never managed to get a satisfactory breakfast as they took it away too early. the room Steward was kind and helpful and the dinner service people service excellent. Pleasant Staff, however, could not make up for the fact that the Encore is just a poor choice of ship for seniors.
The ship was wonderful! My favorite thing is dining at the Buffet. I also like the fitness room.

Our crew is a Global crew. Chances are that you'll find one or more crew members that do speak German, but... It's not guaranteed.

I don't like the waterfront walk. Same on prima I was on. It should be like the old ships - without any dining options there
