Muito legal! O som do pandeiro é incrível nesse samba. Parabéns a Matthias Haffner por essa performance! 🎉🎶

love the lesson. ive heard clave over 4 and 3 but never over 2 as in this example . a real mind bender , ive always felt that the xaxado rhythm felt like a new orleans second line .

EXCELLENT EXPLANATION OF CLAVE CONCEPT!! Samba has clave for sure, the concept of 2 bar patterns and one bar being more syncopated is very important, and I find it helps when understanding/teaching how different drum parts fit together (example 3rd surdo vs. caixa )...parabens. Really good channel Michael!

Is there somewhere a detailed discussion of the irregularities in the timing of the 16th notes? It's a much deeper thing than most of us gringos can comprehend. Thanks for the great lessons!

Great question and I hope you found the answer... I think it's just like the "swing" in jazz, right? I haven't seen this actually taught anywhere. It only comes from listening to lots of players and imitating them until you get a feel for it.

Many thanks Michael for another great pandeiro tutorial video and I hope Matthias will return to teach another video. I did go to the Haffener and Perander Percussion site, good to know where to purchase quality pandeiro jingles and I will keep this in mind for the future.

It would be interesting to play the clave with a foot pedal jam block and the pandeiro at the same time. Thanks for the lesson!
