the accumulator thing matched up with some kind of grapple thingie connected to your skid steer will save a bunch of labor and the man riding on the trailer stacking bales, well, he'll find a new job somewhere else. loved how you corrected the wear in the holes and then made the new parts on your lathe. that's that skill thing in you Jake that I have admired for several years now. good job, great video.
Those farm hand accumulator's worked real good. Dad brought one when us boys got a little older. The baler does have to work good. If it misses a the you don't see it till it dumps the 8 bales. We had the wrong head for loader though. The Bale's run long ways.wow that's a nice shop nice to have the tools.nice your dad and grandpa too. Great video Jake.
Cool! Any tips on running it or setting it? Ya I figured it better run like a new knotter for the accumulator. Main reason I didn’t want a Kuhn accumulator because those would be a pain to dig out
@@jakeziegler599 you do need a fairly wide area between windrows. my dad had a 9 foot swather when he first got the acummulator, i would walk behind it and move bales out of the way. dad would cut 10 acres at a time. so i would walk about 14 miles in a morning 6 times a year. then he got the 12 foot swather. then bales didnt have to be moved untilll they where picked up. his loader head was longer then the farm hand pickup. but much easier the when we sleded our hay.
Howard Younger that’s a lot of walking especially picking up bales. Ok thanks I should be fine then because I always put two swaths into one and mines a 9ft cut
That was a nice fix on the knotters. I hope there's little to no adjustment required when you go to the field. Nice purchase. I look forward to seeing the bale accumulator out in the field. If you're going to repaint the bale accumulator, paint it to match the baler. Stay safe.
The accumulator would look real good painted Oliver green. Nice work taking the slop out of the pivot pin. Remember to replace the chains by counting the links and not the length of the old chain. Looking forward to seeing some haying videos this year. Stay healthy & safe.
That was a pretty cool video Jake balers can be such a challenge to make run like a sewing machine looking forward to seeing it run! You stated that Heston bought the baler line off Oliver, does that mean you could still find parts through agco?
We would restack them on the ground and we had a different pickup on a tractor loader, there is an adjustment lever at the motor that you would adjust according to the speed you drive
On a short piece, why use the tail? If it's all the way in the Chuck, it will run as true as the Chuck... Always love making parts😎 Thanks for the video Jake!!
With only a 7/8” piece it would still deflect enough when it’s sticking out 8” to throw off the cuts. If I was only doing a 3” piece I wouldn’t have used the tail stock. Thanks for watching man
Corey Trout thanks. And I’m not sure. Probably McMaster Carr. Maybe fastenal has them. These are adjustable but only adjust 1/16” then u have to get another one bigger. They make fixed ones also

The guy that invented the knotted had his stuff together. Sure can be frustrating to work on. Thanks for sharing

Ya I’m gona unroll some round bales of straw and try it in the yard. I’m leaning that way also to match the baler. Thanks for watching
great video Jake

Thanks for the video Jake. You Beat out a Re-run of the Andy Griffith show. And that's pretty Hard to do in my house!
😂👍🏻wow I’m honored! Thanks for watching!
That accumulator sure will be handy!
I’m looking forward to it. Thanks for watching
A regular ABom79 lol! That piece looks like it fits better than OE! I'll be looking forward to seeing it in action! Thanks for the video!
I hope it works like a new baler lol. Thanks for watching bud
I have the same accumulator. You'll wonder why you never had one before.
Good video. Can you still get the knotter cast body for that baler? For those who aren't machinists.
Thanks and I didn’t check. Are u looking for one?
@@jakeziegler599 No no. Just thought since they had Hesston knotter, maybe hesston still carried the part. Just me being conversational.
Glad you found one hope it works for you

Thanks! Yes I ordered parts from agco. Same as a Hesston 4500 baler.
Good deal Jake ! Match it up with the oliver!
We had a farmhand 8 bale accumulator when my dad had his farm it worked good but we didn't have the pickup for it we still put up 20 acres of alfafa
So u picked them up and through them on a rack? Any tips or adjustments on running it?

I know this is an older video, but haven't seen or heard of anything from Jake for quite a while. Any one know or hear from him lately?
Great video.
I thought I was the only one that can't find stuff after I set it down. Lol The guy that owned that must of been a diehard to paint that deere colors.
Lolol ya he must’ve. There was a Deere baler a few items down at the auction. I think it came in with it.

Where is a good place to buy reamers like that are they in certain sizes or do they come in sets? Nice work on that repair.

Paint it Oliver colors.
