Shoutouts to everyone who supported me on this journey to my first top! Chris for letting me borrow cards for like 2 years so I could play a competitive deck as well as giving me rides to locals constantly, Adrian and Ulises for being the nicest Yugioh players ever, Choko for putting up with me debating with Brian at 2am, Matthew for always being supportive and willing to discuss theory so I could articulate my reasoning, Finnian for testing and discussing card choices at like 3am, Gaige and Jerome for convincing me to stop playing Crusadia like 3 years ago by kicking my ass at locals over and over haha, Alex and Michael for cheering me on and always being down to test, Calvin Chow for the support as a growing player and helping a lot with my tournament mindset, Brian Chen for taking time out of his day to actually try and help me work on my technical play and yell at me when I screw up
I bought them from Imperium Duelist! They have some great options, but unfortunately their oversleeves sell out incredibly quickly. Might be able to find them on Ebay though?
I don’t really question the 1 Pandemonium, but what I’m wondering is why only 1 Place? Isn’t 2 Place with only 2 Rocksies just better? Congratulations on your top though man great job!
The theory behind that started with wanting to test the 13th name for the event. That advanced into choosing another Rocksies because it lets the link climbing plays be more aggressive turn 3, since I'm less likely to be running out of names if my Pranks was Ogre'd or Ashd on my turn for example. Opening Place, you're searching Rocksies most of the time as is, unless the rest of your hand is already good. Since I wanted my card choices to convert losing situations into winning situations, I'd rather hard open the Rocksies that can potentially fix my hand if they don't have Ash instead of opening Place where it might be my only way to a name that could very easily get Cosmic'd going second or otherwise interacted with. If my only play is Place, then it plays much harder into Droll than Rocksies would. Sure, still get Droll'd on the first thing I do, but at least I resolved the Rocksies and can still set up for the most part. Felt like a much safer choice that also enabled my own aggressive style. Could absolutely go 2 and 2 though if you value the choice of which kid you have higher or the chainblocking aspect comes up more for you.
@@fusionscape_ yea no offense man but I feel a lot of your reasonings are way too niche. Going 2nd is much more worrisome than any of these things you pointed out and Place tremendously helps with going 2nd. You’re reasoning is because of all these other interactions/HT’s that they could use but isn’t that the job of Adventurer to eat those interactions? I just feel like losing the die roll is much more common than your opp opening just the right HT’s and you not opening Brave stuff
@@Domo1180 You don't always have the adventurer package, and personally I don't value the chainblocking aspect of place very highly in a format with a ton of DPE among cards like Chengying, Butler, and Snow. Just no reason to lose to random bad main-decked cards like Cosmic and Droll when you can avoid it imo.
@@fusionscape_ sure sure that is fair enough logic. I appreciate you giving me your insight. Good luck in the future and congrats on your YCS top again man!
