By the looks of it I would say 1500GPM with a pressure reading between 60 psi and 150 psi. Does not sound like a lot of pressure but through a line that size is a lot.

On the Sick and Wrong Podcast, Episode 605, they told a story about a man who committed suicide by tying a rope around his neck from one end, with the other end being tied around a fire hydrant. He then drove his vehicle at full speed until his head snapped! I never thought of fire hydrants as being suicide accessories before! 😂
LOOK it up, WATER HAMMER happen when CLOSING a flowing line too FAST! why all valves and hyrants are usually 22 turns to turn on and off to help prevent hammering the water lines.
@@Matthewcessna If that's what you believe then you haven't opened and shut enough fire hydrants yet. Did you ever see someone blow a water main for opening a valve too quickly. I have! As for the 22 turns you must have read that in manufacturers publication. A lot of fire hydrants have less OR more than 22 turns. Depends whether they have coarse or fine threaded stem rods. I've seen them full open at around 17 and some that take a lot more to open. Some old Ludlow hydrants have more than 22. Earlier comment about the opening and closing of hydrants not following M 17 guidelines agrees with my point
Well that's one way to clean your tires.
Haha
There goes his rotors
whoa, you just read my mind :O
I noticed where the fire hydrant was located, he put his tire in front of it so the water would not shoot into the street hitting a passing vehicle.
My younger brother didn't know what a fire hydrant did. He does now! Really cool video 🙂.
That tire got a free rinse
R.I.P Tire 2010 - 2016
I love how the hydrant was clogged with muddy water. So satisfying.
Now that’s what I call a nice clean tire
I don't think your rear passenger brake is going to work too good after that
Opened it up nicely but with the steamer port full bore and a quick shut down like that. No where near AWWA guidelines
Fire hydrants are so cool i watched the people flush the one in my yard a few months ago
Will you have anymore fire hydrant testing videos soon? Thanks!
None that are scheduled. But if I do get the chance to I will.
Interesting to watch, I've never really seen a hydrant in action before.
Yeah, there so cool! Thank you!
+S.E.R. Safety (Grant Bansemer) me to
Sometimes I get to do hydrant tests at work. Always fun!
Really?
+S.E.R. Safety (Grant Bansemer) Yep! It's not very often but I always look forward to testing a few. The most fun was at a FedEx facility
Ive seen my city do this a few times before.
The grass around: Hallelujah!
Time 0:36 shows very clearly why fire hydrants should be flushed twice yearly.
The color of the water when it first comes out
Rust inside the hydrant
Can I borrow this video? I got a sound effect that can fit this.
SuperMarioJustin4 no
What was the flow rate and pressure of that hydrant?
David Brown yeah I wanted to know that too

Yes
That's a yellow hydrant. It means the supply of water comes from a private supply system. That hydrant has infinite water.
Now ik how to get a free tire wash
Cool
id love that kinda water pressure from my shower!
@@ChalkMlik That is 1,400 pounds per square inch of water pressure; no person can withstand more than 190

really neat. :)
I'm so glad you enjoyed! :D
Soooooo satisfying.
how does it hold so much water?
It's connected to the water main
@@KWatson1984 yeah realized that but thanks
This is what happens to me when I eat at burger king

Dude... its illegal to open a hydrant or you will be charged $1000!
it's not illegal if you're a firefighter.
Well done.
