This is one of those perfect tutorial videos. Short, simple, clear and 100% informative.
This is the most current version of the Windows 10 Screen Recorder. Press the Windows Key + the G key to bring up the Game Bar screen recorder. Alternatively, use Windows Search and type in "Game Bar". Both methods will open the Game Bar. You need Windows 10 to take advantage of this. It isn’t for your desktop or file explorer, but anything else is okay, just make sure to click into your tab

The application looks a little different on my computer and not all of the keys are visible, like the record button, but using the shortcut mentioned in the video worked :). I imagine the differences are related to windows update version since this video was made a year ago. Thanks for the Video Kevin.
A better solution for general recording is start a zoom meeting and record it. Share your screen and then select what you want to record, whether it is your whole desktop or a specific app.
How do you record a zoom meeting?
@@KevinK3vin0 The exact operation varies depending on what device you are on, but on the PC/Windows, just begin screen sharing, then scroll your mouse up to the center top edge of the screen. All the context menus appear. Click record. As soon as you end the meeting, A window will popup and convert the temp recording into 3 files. 1 is an MP4 of audio and video, another is an mp3 of sound only, and the hast is a text file of the chat. This conversion takes place AFTER your zoom meeting ends so don't be in a hurry to shut down your PC. It will take longer depending on how long the recording was.

I get an error message saying, gaming features arnt available for windows desktop or file explorer.
I tried this and my laptop says Gaming features aren’t available for the Window desktop or file explorer. To start a desktop broadcast, launch a game and then select Desktop during your broadcast setup.
I got the same error so I tried launching the "Xbox Console Companion" app and then tried again and was able to record... Maybe the will work for u, cheers :-)
You need to have an app or game open. While the game is open, press Windows + G then you can record ;) hope this helps

I was also having this issue and then I clicked the Windows key and G key combination that he mentions at 1:05. For some reason when I did that, I was able to record no problem!

the record buttons were grayed out and there were only 4 buttons not five.
the reason why there is 4 is bc thatw as to stream on mixer,as it was banned it got removed.its also grey bc you have to be on a game only,you can record your home screen

When i record, it does this weird thing where it records part of my screen and other parts are black. if you want an example, look at one of my recent videos (no this is no self promo)

Quick question why can’t I record
You need a game or app open. Then you need to open the game bar over the game or app. Hope this helps

Open a browser window. Chrome, Firefox, etc. Then press Win+G on your keyboard and it will work fine. I've made a video on my channel covering this :)

your microphone
1. Click on Windows key + G to open the Game bar
2. Click on the Settings icon
3. Click on Capturing option
4. Under AUDIO TO RECORD, select the All option
