Considering players missing, I think it was a very encouraging display from Liverpool. I watched with my friend who was a Liverpool fan and he was super happy. Zoned out for bits of second half, but these are my thoughts from what I saw. How you feeling Liverpool fans?
Very positive start. We are going to be much tighter defensively with slot without losing the attacking flair. Majority of us are very happy so far. Pretty relaxed about transfers, there's not a lot available that we really need tbh. Rome wasn't built in a day but we have solid foundations to build on. Great analysis. 👍
I dint think we need a lb, Owen beck has the potential to come into first team ahead of tsimkas and make a similar impression to bradley both of whom were tearing it up together in the u21.

anyone who saw szoboszlai with Leipzig knows the huge potential he has also everyone should of realised how midfielders in klopp’s system don’t get to shine that much under slot players like szobo jones and others could be unlocked and provide considerably more goals and assists while becoming very important to Liverpool

I also watched the game with a few drinks on me. Our weakest players were Elliot, Carvalho and Endo. I thought the performance was pretty solid considering the age profiles of most of the paleyers, the fact that we were missing a lot of first team choices and that it was their first proper game under Slot. It bodes well for the future. I really liked the Van De Berg and Quansah match up, obviously Bradley on the right and Nyoni looks special. Great to see Bajcetic and Carvalho back, and good to see these players getting minutes in the legs. Thanks for your honest appraisal and for staying up late to watch your rivals play a pre-season friendly and giving us your thoughts on it 👍👍👍

Yh it was an efficient job, Nyoni one for the future like mainoo for utd not really ready for international football though as proven in the Euros. I said all along we'll win nothing with Southgates DEI choices. Hopefully the new England manager will play people on merit and wisdom aswell as skill. Slot will definitely get us organised allover the pitch and play percentages which can have the same effect on the opposition as heavy metal football lol.

Maybe watch the 2nd half again and you might have a view on Ben Doak who's back from injury. He has the pace and trickery to make an impact off the bench this season. Tiring defenders will probably not enjoy playing against Doak.
Endo might have been on the Saki all summer! ;D Actually it's Endo's first LFC preseason, maybe he's knackered, like when Robbo signed but 6 years older....? 😁
People need to chill out. Singings will come. This game really made sense why Slot wants to assess the squad himself before rushing to make decisions. There's 11 senior players still on holiday and there's more than enough time in the transfer window.
If you cant see a 6 is a total must then i dont know what to say. Need to get them in and allow them to settle before the start of the season or its back to endo week in week out. Klopp saw this last season and we got done by Chelsea for both our targets, Nothing has changed

We might sign a DM and a CB Alice, but I don't think we'll go for a LB. We have Robbo there and Kostas is very consistent for the most part. I don't think Kostas has had more than 3 bad games for us. I wouldnt be too bothered if we didn't get a DM or RW because we still have Bacjetic back from injury and Doak from the academy needs games when Salah isn't playing. Elliot can shift to the left wing as well, even though I'd rather he operate through the centre. I love Harvey's energy in there.

We got Stefan Bajcetic from them too I think. Yes they are a great club who like to play football the right way, though most Spanish clubs do that. Good test for our lads. Which we passed, they had a lot of 1st team players playing. Positive beginning, just don't get carried away.
Arnord hype but good Braddley better, if Arnold vulnerability is too much. Arnold might give u two cross/passess and will leak three goals. any good coach will prefer Bradley. a good defense can win matches.

@ECILAFootball yeah it can but it is all about preparation and experimentation, over the years I've learned not to read too much into preseason, I agree you might see some young players that don't look out of place, really we're all starved of club football at this point every year, thus a lot of people try to look for stuff that isn't there, truth is until the season starts we won't know, Slot is unproven at this level, the question for Liverpool still is, how much will things change without Klopp, until we've seen at least a few proper games we just won't know....I'm not a United fan (im Arsenal) but keep up the good work, I enjoy the content

Alice just remember it's preseason it's all about fitness, games are played just to gain match sharpness, the results mean nothing, most people were saying Man Utd looked good in preseason last year, yet it had zero bearing on the actual season, preseason is all about fitness/match sharpness for the actual season, the results aren't important in preseason

@ECILAFootball yeah it can but it is all about preparation and experimentation, over the years I've learned not to read too much into preseason, I agree you might see some young players that don't look out of place, really we're all starved of club football at this point every year, thus a lot of people try to look for stuff that isn't there, truth is until the season starts we won't know, Slot is unproven at this level, the question for Liverpool still is, how much will things change without Klopp, until we've seen at least a few proper games we just won't know....I'm not a United fan (im Arsenal) but keep up the good work, I enjoy the content
